Welcome! My name's Daniel, and my story is a little different than most.
I've been making records for the last 8 years, and I've had some Indie success... Sold just over 50,000 CDs so far, and sung for nearly a million people in about 40 U.S. states and Canada. Been on TV and radio a bit. Just scored a film for the Fox show "On The Lot". And I've had more than 30 of my songs recorded by other indie artists. My CD "Water", which came out in August of 2006, is my eleventh release.
But numbers aside, the thing that's different is the KIND of music I make... and why I make it.
I definitely write my share of codependent love songs, country, rock, jazz, childrens' songs... but what I REALLY do is this: I write songs of kindness, of connection, of healing, of forgiveness, of peace. I write songs to bring down the imaginary walls we've erected between us. I make music for humanity.
It's a bit unconventional, perhaps, but much needed in this day and age, from my experience. I've worked with dozens of motivational speakers and authors, performed for business conferences, spiritual audiences, interfaith events... And as a volunteer, I visited the Astrodome with my guitar after Hurricane Katrina; I've sung at hundreds of nursing homes, prisons, hospitals, senior centers, schools, homeless shelters, and for organizations like Habitat For Humanity; and my songs have been featured at peace festivals, environmental events, animal-welfare events, and for youth groups and summer camps (including some hospital camps for kids with cancer)... I love singing to make people feel good, to inspire, to provoke thought, to open hearts. It's just what I was born to do.
And I don't think my modest 'success' has been an accident. In fact, I truly believe that the music I'm making, the message it carries, has a worldwide audience, and in fact serves an important purpose. It is my intention to make an album, or series of albums, that's released around the world, that's translated into many languages. It's my intention to write songs that are sung (by myself and by many others) when the world is crying, and when the world is celebrating. Songs that serve the mission of the United Nations, capture the spirit of the Olympics, and uplift humanity in ways which songs like "Imagine", "I Believe I Can Fly", and "What A Wonderful World" have been doing for years. It's a big vision, for sure. And I'm doing all I can to make it real.
So if you do listen to the songs we've uploaded here, you might notice that they say something a little different, and, more importantly, feel a little different. It was SO tempting to upload a goofy song, or a bitter song, or maybe even my personal favorite, my tribute to Jessica Alba :-) ... but I decided to share a few of my more thoughtful, positive songs, to give you a sense of what I'm all about. I hope you enjoy.
Thanks for visiting.... and come back soon!

Hey! I just saw you on the HUB video. I became a member about two weeks ago when Charlie came to Boise. It seems to be a wonderful organization doing great things to make the world a better place. I enjoyed seeing that you were a part of it! Love your song "One Power!"
Hiya Beth! HAPPY NEW YEAR to both you and Daniel....Lots of love and blessings to you for this wonderful new year with so much good to look forward to. Daniel's music remains a constant, and typically, it's a prayer for me. I did his jazz waltz "WHAT A CHANCE" for our New Year's Eve service at church, and "the crowd roared." The congregation loved it. Pass that along to Daniel, will you please? Both of you, take good care. God Bless. Tim
