Daniel & Dollars har eksisteret i 4 år, (så vidt vi husker). Det startede som en ide fra Daniels side. Han havde en del sange tilovers fra tidligere punkbands, som eksempelvis Lokum og inkontrolados. Disse sange her blevet kaseret da de simpelthen ikke var "hårde nok"
Daniel havde arvet en gammel Gibson Guitar, og idéen om at lave et surfband kom herfra. Vi startede altså med at spille vokalbaserede numre, og så altså lave surfnumre ud af forskellige kaserede guitarrundgange.
Med tiden er de vokalbaserede blevet reduceret, men en lille håndfuld er der stadig, specielt nummeret Tilbage til Fyn, som vel er et lille hit i visse kredse.
Som så mange andre surfbands, tænker vi også i film når vi laver numre. Det kommer til udtryk i sangtitlerne, og det er nok overvejende gyser, og westernfilm vi tænker på.
Navnet på bandet er inspireret af navne som: Link Wray & The Wraymen, og Dick Dale & The Deltones. Vi syntes ganske enkelt at det er mest Surf
Daniel & Dolars har p.t. indspillet to EP..er , hvoraf den senete blev optaget i december 2007 i Lund. den ligger stadig og venter på at blive færdigmixet og selvfølgelig udsendt.
Den første er optaget i November 2004 i det tidligere ungdomshus på jagtvej 69. det er denne EP der er lagt numre fra på profilen her.
