............ ........ .. born in Guayaquil, Ecuador in 1975. Daniel Orejuela Flores began music lessons at the age of five initially with violin and later settling on guitar and congas. His early musical influences were derived from multiple genres including Latinamerican Folklore, Rock and American Pop, Flamenco and Jazz. His career in the audio world began at the age of seventeen when he was employed as an assistant engineer and later as a mastering engineer at FEDISCOS S.A., one of the major record companies in Ecuador at the time. Looking to further his knowledge and experience in the music and sound fields he moved to Germany, working there as a performing musician, arranger, producer and live sound engineer. In 1999, Daniel moved to The Netherlands where he received his Bachelor of Music Degree in the Tonmeister program at The Royal Conservatory, The Hague. Simultaneously he also studied jazz composition and arranging at the Rotterdams Conservatory. During his studies he had the opportunity to work and record projects with Michael Brecker, Barry Harris and Steve Reich. Daniel participated in the audio work-study program at The Banff Centre in Canada from May 2004 trough December 2004. During this period he had the opportunity to record for internationally-renowned artisits such as Kenny Wheeler, Dave Douglas, Clarence Penn, Bill Frisell among others. He also attended individual lessons and worked in projects with Graemme Brown , Jim Anderson, Mark Willsher, David Sonnenschein, Florian Camerer and Richard King. Daniel Orejuela has recorded and produced many projects of classical and popular music including styles such as Baroque, Jazz, Latin, Fusion, Pop, Rock, Hip-Hop and contemporary music. Two of his recordings have been awarded by the Audio Engineering Society (AES), one in 2003 in Amsterdam in the category jazz stereo and another one in 2004 in San Francisco in the category of non-classical sourround. In February 2005 Daniel returned to Germany. He is currently living in Cologne, working as a freelance audio engineer and producer. (WDR, EMI, RTL, VIVA). In 2006 he united forces with the colombians Juan Restrepo and Bruno Böhmer and creates the music production company and record label ALLA (Artistas Latinos Liderando Alemania).
