DANIEL PANETTA SHARES HIS VOICE FOR MOTHER'S DAY.
Daniel Panetta a 16 year old singer has decided to share his voice with a special group of mother's for Mother's day. Mother's of military personnel stationed overseas will pick up the CDs from family resource centres with the song "Mama" voiced by the 16 year old baritone from Maple Ontario. When Daniel was just a boy his family lived in Angus near the Borden military base where he and his brother would watch the planes take off and land.
When Daniel's management team, Farley Flex and Gerry Fumo suggested that Daniel, who is very close to his own mother, do something special for mothers with children stationed overseas on Mother's Day, Daniel's eyes lit up. With a bit of research done they quickly discovered there were over 2500 soldiers deployed in Afghanistan. "What better way to touch the families and give them hope than to share my voice as a gift, next to my family it’s my most cherished gift."
Over 5000 CD's of Daniel's version of 'Mama' have been shipped nationwide to the Mother's of deployed soldiers in Afghanistan.
Daniel Panetta is a 16 year old with a voice and stage presence far beyond his years. His passion to perform was evident at the age of 5 when he started to steal the show at family functions. Two year later he played in a theatre production of Grease as Danny Zucco. More influence came from his exposure to Elvis which lead to countless hours of singing and practicing “the moves”. While most boys were collecting Hot Wheels, Daniel collected Elvis movies and completed the whole set before he was ten.
Although Daniel was also active and successful in sports and school events, music was his number one focus. Recognizing the need to formalize this talent and channel this relentless drive, his parents enrolled him at the Arcadia Academy of music as well as arranging for classical vocal training. This of course led to the interest of creating music, Daniel started playing guitar and writing his own music & lyrics. This eventually morphed to his leading a 5 piece band in 2006/7 and concerts at venues such as the El Macambo, Reilly’s, Funhaus and the Opera house.
As a solo artist with his natural baritone talent, Daniel has placed high and won many local competitions such as Maplefest, York Region Talent Search and CNE’s Rising Star. He also keeps very busy performing at events and charity functions with Princess Margaret Hospital and the Hospital for Sick Children. In 2007, Daniel was selected by St. Elizabeth senior as one of two 15 year olds to perform overseas in Venice, Florence and Rome.
Listening to Daniel’s rendition of “Mama” brings forward his vocal strength and ability to move any audience to chills. He also proves that music is truly an International language with his haunting Italian version of “Nights in White Satin” and “You Raise Me Up” sung in Spanish. His versatility as a singer shines through with a mature delivery of “Me and Mrs. Jones”.
This young man is at the very beginning of what will be long successful career. Backed up by a closely knit, supportive family along with his work ethic and delightfully fresh attitude to the craft, Daniel Panetta will certainly prove that statement true.
