Daniel Realpe is a recognized metal/rock guitarist from Colombia, winner of the “Best Guitarist” Subterránica award in 2008. With over 12 years of experience playing the guitar and playing with many bands including the Colombian band Ethereal with whom he toured South America through countries such as Ecuador, Peru, Bolivia and Argentina in 2008 and Hiddenpath the band in which he creates and produces the music entirely.

Hiddenpath was the band chosen by Mike Portnoy, drummer for Dream Theater to open for them in Bogotá in 2008. Hiddenpath has been the opening act for Symphony x in 2007. Daniel Realpe was chosen to play with guitarist Kiko Loureiro on the Guitar Fest in Bogotá in 2008. Hiddenpath were the winners for “Best progressive metal band” on the Subterránica awards in 2008.

Daniel was chosen as one of the 12 finalists worldwide for the contest Guitar Idol in the UK. The final was held june 13th 2009 in London.

In 2009, Daniel releases his official MySpace with entirely new material and at the same time Daniel Realpe is offering guitar clinics in which thorough active participation, the students will develop theorical, practical and technical criteria that will help them to perform music with the electric guitar, giving them tools that will allow them to have an integral knowledge in playing the guitar.

The clinics are focused in the performing of the virtuoso electric guitar to guitarists who want to speed their learning and perfectioning process of the techniques involved in playing guitar.

Techniques such as legato, speed picking, tapping, bending, sweep picking are analyzed in repertoire from guitar players such as Tony Macalpine, Vinnie Moore, John Petrucci, Steve Vai, Michael Romeo and the original compositions from Daniel Realpe.

Daniel Realpe es un reconocido guitarrista de metal/rock en Colombia, ganador del premio Subterránica a “Mejor guitarrista” en 2008. Tiene experiencia de más de 12 años tocando la guitarra y ha tocado con varias bandas a través de los años incluida la banda Colombiana Ethereal con quienes realizo una gira suramericana pasando por Ecuador, Perú, Bolivia y Argentina en 2008 y Hiddenpath donde se encargo de la composición, grabación y producción de la música en su totalidad.

Hiddenpath fue la banda escogida por Mike Portnoy baterista de Dream Theater para abrir su concierto en Marzo de 2008 en Bogotá. Hiddenpath también han sido los teloneros de la banda SymphonyX de Estados Unidos en su concierto de 2007 en Bogotá. Daniel Realpe, guitarrista de la banda también fue escogido para tocar en el Guitar Fest en abril de 2008 en donde se presentaron los mejores guitarristas de Colombia para compartir escenario con Kiko Loureiro, guitarrista de Angra. Hiddenpath fue la banda ganadora a “Mejor banda de metal progresivo” en los premios Subterránica en 2008

Daniel fue finalista escogido en el concurso Guitar Idol 2009 en el Reino Unido entre más de 1000 participantes y se presentó en la final en Londres el 13 de junio de 2009.

En 2009 lanza su MySpace oficial con material completamente nuevo al mismo tiempo realizando clínicas de guitarra donde por medio de una participación activa, los alumnos desarrollarán criterios teóricos, prácticos y técnicos que les ayudarán a perfeccionar la interpretación de la guitarra eléctrica, brindándoles herramientas que les permitan tener un conocimiento integral en la ejecución del instrumento

Las clínicas están enfocadas a la guitarra virtuosa dirigida a guitarristas que quieran mejorar sus técnicas de interpretación y aprender nuevas maneras de abordar el estudio de la guitarra eléctrica. Se tratan técnicas como legato, speed picking, tapping, sweep picking en repertorio de guitarristas como Tony Macalpine, Vinnie Moore, John Petrucci, Steve Vai, Michael Romeo y las composiciones originales de Daniel Realpe.
