Daniel Wayne is a songwriter. His music is simple and makes no bones about it. The long road has brought him back to where he started. At the age of 8 he began writing songs and beats on a Casio keyboard his sister gave him. Teachers used to complain to his mother that he made weird noises in the classroom. He has always had music in his head and lyrics on his mind. He played trumpet in high school and was once given a failing grade for a music theory class because he refused to recite someone else’s song, opting instead to perform an original. Now a mature musician, Daniel sings songs of the people he has known, the pub crawler, the listless dreamer, the outsider and the underdog.
Daniel's music reflects an attitude, original and raw. Growing up in Cincinnati, Ohio, he listened to a variety of music from the rock of Nirvana, Pearl Jam, The Cars, C.C.R. and Led Zepplin to the smooth R&B and hip hop sounds of Marvin Gaye, Babyface, and Dr. Dre. Now a days, Daniel couldn’t tell you where his music is coming from. He just writes songs.
Upon moving to New York Daniel created a buzz for his sincerity as a songwriter and performer, playing in such venues as Bar Matchless, Rockwood Music Hall, and Pianos as well as residencies at Smith’s Tavern and CBGBs (RIP). He’s excited to be going on tour with Megan Jean and the Klay Family Band, with whom the two acts combine to create unbelievable and lasting music, and overall, one hell of a night.
