Danish Space started playing the banjo after near-successful separation surgery. Before that, they had met opposition in fundamentalist circles for being the first siamese twins to undertake sexual reassignment surgery.
Shortly after, they lost their rhythm section, Per and Kalle who owned a farm on the Swedish border, where they sought to raise ostrich, in the late 80's. Per and Kalle had been planning to kill them for a long time anyway, as they found it sickening to meddle with Gods creation. Danish did not take this lightly, and went on the road with their banjos. After the surgery, they had developed a unique banjo technique as a result from their brains (that had until recently been one fat common brain) fighting a quiet struggle for reunion, something that gave their performance splendid coordination and never before heard harmonies.

Slowly but surely however, their interest in the banjo had to give way to their experiments with dead cow. Their first out-of-the-body-experience just about coincided with this. No one knew what caused what. In time they gained a massive following of dead cow enthusiasts and banjo-fanatics who constantly waged war on each other wherever they went. No one seemed to care that Danish Space only longed for a quiet life with Per and Kalle.

After their tour bus was involved in an ugly accident, where luckily no one was hurt, they entered a long period of total isolation and didn't speak to anyone, not even each other or themselves. Slowly people started to forget them. No one really took to thinking that they'd ever hear from them again. Nothing could have been more wrong, though. Later its become clear that this was their most productive period ever. People were to hear from them again.

On the seventeenth of may 1993, they hit the road again. No one could believe their own ears. They had now transcended into playing so-called scientific music, where they performed instrumental country ballads about the borderline between psy-trance and prog-house, exclusively. People went nuts. A sixty eight year-old lady was raped during one of the shows. Four twelve year-olds were caught with sawd off shotguns during moose hunting season. Seven local dentists got cancer. The times took a turn for the worse.

At about the same time, Per and Kalle were struck by animal rights activist who snuck on to their farm and released all the ostrich. On local radio there was an attempt at planting a theory, concerning how the ostrich were not going to make it in the wild, and that they would be eaten by fox and wild cat. But who got eaten by whom is only known to a certain guy named Sverre Andersen. The water levels in Mjøsa were unusually low that year, and Danish Space grew worried about the population of northern pike. In the middle of a solidarity concert, Per and Kalle showed up amongst the audience, with real ostrich feathers shoved up their asses exactly like in the good old days, when they used to play together.
