Influences
Everything I listen to and enjoy I try to draw from - The Funkiest Funk, the Coolest Jazz, the Craziest D'n'B, the Most Addicting Salsa! Aretha Franklin, Ray Charles, Herbie Hancock, Keller Williams, Paul Sullivan, Scott Joplin, The great masters of Jazz Standards, Harold Arlen, Parliament, Average White Band, Moby, Kool and the Gang, Satchemo, Seeed, The Beachwood Sparks, Dave Brubeck, Earth WInd and Fire, Chicago, Cake, Mighty Might Bosstones, Grateful Dead, James Brown, New Order, King Crimson, Gershwin, DJ Premier, Jurassic 5, Afro Celt Soundsystem, and this is, sadly, a very weak and exclusionary list.
I enjoy playing multiple instruments at bands, jams, recordings, and so on. Currently playing and gigging with both Michael Shakley & Graham (More on that...) and the Perkins Van Moore Jazz Ensemble. For booking info please send over an email! I'm continually trying to better my skills in music - and love creating and playing all sorts of music of many genres. I have all the symptoms of a severe case of Chronic Gear Lust. You might have seen me at the monthly Second Read Jazz Jam in Rockland, sometimes at the Good Tern Co-op in Rockland, or at the Waldo Theater Annex Jazz Jam, or somewhere else. Look me up if you're around - love to play and meet music folk!
Ameranouche Trio will be rocking, jazzing and nouching this Friday 12/05/08 at the Maple Room in Lewiston, ME. We will be doing a guitar/bass Workshop at 3:30pm, and then a concert at 8pm Hope to see you there. More info at www. themapleroom. info/schedule
Thanks! I recently met Pete in person (at a performance last Sunday) but know him through other folks in Amherst. Looking forward to hearing more from him - & you also!
Hey Danji! How's the Rhodes? You ever pimp it out 'East Coast Cambridge' style like I suggested? I was feeling nostalgic the other day and posted a recording of a few Grateful Dead covers, in which your Rhodes was used. I'm back in the Boston-Metro area for two more weeks before heading overseas for a while and then moving to NC. One word of advice to you: get rich and famous so you can afford to bring the Rhodes wherever you go!
Just a quick hello from the west coast. Phil told me you deferred enrollment. cool. what's the hurry anyway, right? Let me know if u travel out here..I miss you and still sad I didn't see u last trip to Rockland..hugs-LG
