Elvis Le, guitarist for Ugly, says: "Leviathan is dope. I listen to "Until the Day" and "TPR" to get pumped up before my shows!"
Josh Fernandez of The Sacramento News & Review writes: "From the first verse--"I've been told that I'm an old soul/ It's not that exactly/ It's just this world is so cold,/ You gotta be wise just to have a chance to grow old"--it's clear that Mic Jordan is an emcee who steps beyond rap writing and ventures boldly into hip-hop poetry. From Daddy Longlegs' flute-laced beat on "Fa Sho" to 26 Hours' action movie-esque production on "Until the Day," this album is a gold mine for fans of real hip-hop. The star of this album, of course, is Mic Jordan, who consistently displays trademark wisdom combined with stunning wordplay on each track. If for one second you doubt the talent of Sacramento emcees and producers, find this album and be silenced for good."
MIC JORDAN: LEVIATHAN... featuring Tribe of Levi, MahtieBush, Old Ghost, Bru Lei, PSFU, 5th Ave, Random Abiladeze, Lavon Oshun, Blaze, M.I.Geezus, 26 Hours, Agustus ThElefant, DJ Doin' Somethin', Ospis, and more of the Capitol's finest emcees and producers! Available now!
praise for Mic Jordan's forthcoming LP "Air":
Todd Osterhout of The Local Slice writes: "Introspective, conscious, deep, intense, creative, soul-felt lyrics glide over dreamy, "barefoot" beats with a 70s feel... keeps all aspects of his music relevant, connected, and in harmony.... [Mic Jordan] includes creative tales of wonder along with the real street knowledge he's learned from California life. He often speaks positively of religion but against using power to deceive the people. Jordan alludes to modern and ancient mythology in the context of keeping an open mind - respecting diversity. He tackles topics such as politics, race, class, drugs, alcohol, and youth to adolescence to making a living... with fast and complex yet clear and compelling deliveries transferring to a calm, easy style... close your eyes and let Jordan guide your imagination and transform your perspective."
MIC JORDAN: AIR... produced by PEABODY GREENE coming in 2008!
"All hail the new king of Sac hip-hop."
--Sacramento News & Review
Mic Jordan aka EnsiteNonStop started writing poetry and lyrics in junior high and has been a regular in California's spoken-word and hiphop circles since the late 90s, rocking with Neighborhood Greenouse in Sacramento and Dank Chamber in Southern Cali. Mic Jordan is now a member of Sacramento-based super crew TPR (The People's Revolution), where he, as a member of Tribe of Levi and Super Smash Bros., has been steadily holding down Sacramento's criminally-slept on underground scene. A lot of emcees would end up looking bad after sharing the stage with Nas, KRS-ONE, Dead Prez, Prince Po (Organized Konfusion), J-Live, Chuck Taylor, Vast Aire, or Tame One; when Mic Jordan does it, he just proves he belongs up there with them.
Mic Jordan is a lyricist of uncommon depth. Touching on a variety of topics from politics to partying, he strives to make music that represents himself truthfully while advancing consciousness through the art of emceeing. Listeners have described him as similar to Nas, Common, Mr. Lif, or Andre 3000. Whether he's reflecting on his own life, commenting on current events, or just battling, each of Mic Jordan's skillfully woven raps comes alive with detail. Mic Jordan sees himself as a philosopher of sorts, using hiphop as a medium to chart his progress in the ongoing quest for Truth. He refuses to compromise himself by 'dumbing down'. If you don't want to use your brain, Mic Jordan isn't for you. However, if you feel like hiphop needs more balance, or if a hot flow doesn't move you unless it's got equally hot content, then congratulations: you've just discovered your new favorite emcee.
When he's not on stage, you're most likely to find Mic Jordan with his face buried in a book, scribbling furiously in a notepad, or drawing on things. He likes meeting open-minded truth-seekers, brilliant children, people with paranormal abilities, philosophers, actual saints and prophets, alchemists, cool old people, people who care about animals but aren't unrealistic about nature, anybody with firsthand knowledge of important historical events, purists, sexy librarians and teachers, and former catholic schoolgirls.
