Dan Liquid
Dan Liquid has been part of the UK's scene for over a decade. Both as DJ and a producer he has forged a unique path to achieve a high status and international recognition. Based in Cambridge, Dan is influenced by a whole range of musical genres and has enjoyed widespread success in his production partnerships with Conan Liquid (Liquid People) and Dan Nu:Tone (Danism).
Starting out as a DJ, Dan initially became recognized as through his legendary Wednesday night (The Goodly Wednesday) at Fez Club in Cambridge. Spinning classic U.S. House, Dan invited a range of international guests to the night and DJs such as Louie Vega, Joey Negro, Brian Tappert, Bobbi & Steve and DJ Disciple played TGW on a regular basis. Over a decade on and Dan has consistently held a regular night at the Fez throughout; be as part of Liquid People, Danism or as Dan Liquid.
Both as Liquid People and more recently Danism, Dan Liquid has also held a residency for MN2S @ The End and has regularly appeared for MN2S across a range of their flagship parties. Rocking venues such El Divino (Ibiza), Escape (A.D.E. – Amsterrdam) and Matter (London) alongside the likes of David Morales, Todd Terry, Michael Gray, Fedde Le Grand and Martin Solveig, Dan Liquid hold good company!!
Dan’s style as a DJ is versatile and, while having his roots in U.S. House, his sound is firmly focused on the main room. Combing impeccable tune selection and smooth mixing, his deep, driving rhythms deliver on the dance floor. Dan Liquid maintains a busy international DJ schedule and, in addition to the playing throughout the UK, fulfils commitments across Europe, Russia and China as well as dates in Kuala Lumpa and Singapore.
As well as rocking clubs, Dan Liquid also plays large scale shows with the like of David Guetta for ‘F**k Me, I’m Famous (Belgrade Arena) and has dates throughout the summer months at major festivals such as Global Gathering.
Liquid People
Originally putting out releases through their own 3rd Day imprint in the mid 90s, Liquid People have since had original productions for labels such as Catch 22, Kidology, Defected, Slip ‘N’ Slide, MN2S and Sole Music; as well as contributing 3 seminal productions to the hugely popular Africanism project on Yellow. Liquid People were, incidentally, the first UK producers to sign a deal on Yellow, while Talking Heads, Lucy Pearl, All Saints, Telepopmusik, Soul Central, The Jinks and Blaze are just some of the artists who have received the Liquid People remix treatment
Liquid People have consistently hit the top of the international dance charts with records such as the 2002 international club smash ‘Monster’ on Defected, through to the critically acclaimed ‘Love Is The Answer’ on Yellow and last year’s massive ‘Son Of Dragon’ on Soul Heaven. After enjoying further success with the ‘Trip EP’ on Defected’s Cyphon imprint and ‘Ice Cream Parlor’ on Sole Music, Dan and Conan teamed up with long-term production partner Dan Gresham – also known as D&B star Nu:Tone – to form the Danism Project. Liquid People have subsequently released a string of soulful bombs on MN2S such as ‘Inside Your Soul’ , ‘Glance, Look, Stare’ and ‘One Life’ featuring the vocal talents of Heidi Vogel, Monique Bingham and Lisa Millet..
Danism
With extensive studio experience, Dan Liquid and Dan Nu:Tone and are currently making serious waves. As a fully-trained musician and keyboard player, Dan Nu:tone has seamlessly integrated himself with Dan Liquid’s production vision and their tracks have, over the past 3 years, consistently hit the top of the international dance charts. From their collaborations with vocalists such as Lisa Millet, Kenny Bobien and Kathy Brown, Danism are behind soulful hits such as ‘One Life’, ‘Feelin’ You’ and ‘Light Up My Life’, while releases such as the ‘Afterdark’ EP and the ‘Astarte’ EP highlight their darker dimensions.
Danism have also worked with the likes of Monique Bingham, but it is their recent collaborations with Haze that has taken their productions, and their plaudits, to the next level. Featuring the staccato spoken word of Haze, ‘Mesmirise’ was a major club hit in 2007 and in 2008 ‘Strike’ was another club smash In addition to their output for MN2S, Danism have released material on labels such as Defected, Slip & Slide, and Tony Records. They remixed Soul Central’s ‘Strings Of Life’ in 2004, and have more recently remixed the likes of Blaze (Slip ‘N’ Slide), Groove Junkies (MoreHouse), Lisa Millet (Code Red) and Hagenaar & Albrecht (Nocturnal Groove). In 2008, Danim also released their debut compilation mix for MN2S.
2009 is also shaping up to be a vintage year for Danism. In addition to tracks like ‘Strip For Me’ and ‘Change’ coming out through MN2S, Dansim have also remixed Codec Shift for Big Love and had an EP released on Bargrooves. Their recent collaboration with Michael Gray and Lisa Millet (‘Say Yes’) is, however a huge achievement. Scheduled for release on Defected and getting massive pre-release hype, ‘Say Yes’ is going to be huge!!
