Dan is a hearty 50% of the Chicago-based, acoustic indie-folk/pop-rock group, Poiema. But before that, he was 100% of the solo-acoustic act Dan Lugo.
Back in the day, Dan joined up with some incredibly musically talented people, including Brandon Slavinski (myspace.com/calistory) and Drew Seeley (myspace.com/drewseeley), in order to make some loud noises, write some songs, and hopefully find girlfriends. At least one of those things happened.
After years of making loud noises with different groups of people, Dan went on to write and play by himself. It was a lot easier to schedule rehearsals and gigs that way. Even though he enjoys being part of a duet, he still loves to get out and play alone sometimes; usually at an open mic or anytime he's back near his old hometown of Orlando.
Dan!! What's up my friend? It's been ages. Yeah, I saw you were playing Austins. So killer. I don't know if I'll be able to make it out tomorrow night. But I had an idea. I'll be at Austins next Sat (Aug 22) Will you still be in town? I need some opening acts. Let me know. Miss ya.
Haha, well i've been writing a lot for a few churches mainly east pointe -- it's a church plant in oviedo. Not a plant anymore, so funds from the cd we wrote and recorded is kind of a big deal. My friend's got a restaraunt on lake eola if you need a good place to play while you're here. It's a cafe-type deal.
Did you make a step up from the job at borders?? And is this guy gonna play down here with you?? I'm a bit confused about the new songs, but you haven't written a bad song yet, huh??
Ha, yea it's nice to hear from you again -- i'm sure i'll see you some this summer, i have a friend that might be your new biggest fan. You might just have to talk to her, lol
Not really. Nat doesn't really talk to anyone since he got engaged. He said he would give Matt Travers and myself a call when I saw him at church, so maybe we'll get something started again.
