About me:
I am an antiquarian book dealer and struggling writer. I'm not trying to amass thousands of friends but I'm pretty inclusive. Mostly what you're going to find in my friends lists beyond "real" friends are writers, artists, scientists and political and philosophical activists. If it's a music "friend" then you can count on my actually liking that music. So, yes, there is room in my head for Rob Zombie and Billy Bragg and Stan Rogers and Rasputina. Go figure.

poe
hemingway
john irving
phillip k. dick

that i can totally (yes barney, TOTALLY) rip you off for. let me know. and let me know how much you want for said books. i'm not looking for hardcovers or super-fancy, "one time hemingway spilled some whiskey on this book before he slugged a hooker" style stuff. just everyday paperbacks.

The Applicant at New York Magazine

New York Magazine did a little piece on my short film, The Applicant, and the film can be viewed at their website at:

http://nymag.com/daily/entertainment/2007/12/filmmaker_faisal_qureshi.html

I haven't failed to notice that the reaction to the short, judging from the comment section, has been overwhelmingly negative but hilariously viterolic. Check out the guy who brands me a threat to civilisation and condoning the 7th July London bombings (the film recieved funding and was cast well before the events of 7/7). A case of someone with far too much time on their hands.

This also ties in with the small piece that should be appearing in the December issue of the Bafta magazine, Academy but haven't got an issue at hand as of yet.

So on-line wise then, you can catch my writing/directing stuff at:

Scribble: http://www.atomfilms.com/film/scribble.jsp
The Lift: http://www.atomfilms.com/film/the_lift.jsp
Lifters: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qYsBxQJ4KDQ

Enjoy.
