18-year-old Pop/Dance artist Danni D is breaking onto the New York City music scene with a powerhouse voice, hook-driven songs, and a high-energy live show. At her core is an infectious sound that elicits comparisons to inspirations such as Lady Gaga and Madonna. Yet her operatic training and fierce devotion to hip hop dance are just a couple of things that set her apart from the fray. A virtuosic and versatile singer, Danni D. can masterfully tackle a rap one moment, and then soar into glass-bursting, crystalline opera the next, not to mention her ability to execute complex hip-hop choreography with ease--making her performances worthy of the buzz they've created.
Danni D's commanding vocal abilities and her natural talent for writing cleverly-crafted, catchy songs have grabbed the attention of some of the industry’s biggest players. Renowned vocal trainer William Riley (Whitney Houston, Celine Dion) and notable Vocal coach Katie Agresta (Bon Jovi, Cyndi Lauper) have already taken her under their wings. Danni D has collaborated with producers Dave Tozer (John Legend), as well as songwriters Frankie Storm and Claude Kelly (Britney Spears, Kelly Clarkson). Danni D is currently recording with songwriter/producer Heather Holley, who is known for launching the careers of young, up-and-coming stars (most notably, Christina Aguilera) as well as producer Jon Leidersdorf, who has worked with the likes of the Jonas Brothers and Allie Moss.
Performances at NYC's The Bitter End and Ella Lounge and appearances on red carpets and at VIP social events in Manhattan and the Hamptons have created a buzz in the city scene about her upcoming debut album. Richie Rich, the celebrity fashion designer (and fixture of the NYC club scene) debuted Danni D’s forthcoming hit single, “LBD (Little Black Dress)”, in his Fall/Winter 2009 Fashion Shows in New York and Miami, and has since become one of her biggest fans. She has upcoming shows at Lollapalooza (The Hard Rock Hotel) and the Santos Party House.
Whether it is her hot live performances, or the fact that her witty, artful lyrics sneak up on you unexpectedly, hidden in intoxicating club beats, Danni D. already seems to exude a certain star-power. And so, though she is only just breaking onto the scene, and she is technically "up-and-coming," that label, already, seems completely passé.
