Hi, I am Danielle, a Leicester-born and raised singer / songwriter wanting to promote my music on the internet since I've been promoting myself vocally for many, many years now! Not that I'm that old, I'm only 21!!!
My musical style... God, it varies so much depending on who I work with and always try to learn new techniques and approaches to make me a better and more open-minded individual and professional. I don't have a style in particular... I feel that you only have a style if you stick to one thing - which I can do but I am trying to learn as much as I can to help myself become a better singer with plenty of ability and knowledge!
Recording sessions tend to start with improvised vocals and continues to be improvised so sometimes we get very interesting results - which, funnily enough, have always been used in the tracks... It helps me stay individual and own my own vocal style, rather than being the same as every other singer. I am me!
I prefer to sing live as I am more comfortable in that situation but can record in the studio but I don't get the same response as I would when singing live... I feed from the crowds response! And recording in a studio singing the same lines over and over can drive you insane!!! Look at me!!!
I have collaborated with DJs and producers (check out DJ Sonarm), performed big roles in theatre shows (singing and acting) and have won several awards for the best regional and local vocal talent. Not that I'm bragging :) cos most of the time you hate the way you sound when you're recorded! I know I do!
