Music
I'm always searching for new music....so if you got some quality dirt on bands/artists let a brutha know. New tunage in my life is: Dutch Pink, Helio Sequence, Shocking Blue, Mother Hips, Black Kids, Beirut, Filmschool, Buffalo Killers, Brimstone Howl, Bloodie Hollies......top electronica producers would be simian Mobile Disco, Darko, Claude Von Stroke, Pascal FEOS, Chris Coco, Bassbin Twins, Stanton Warriors, Evil Nine, and, as always, the Plump Dj's. so this next part is tuff. l'll break it down like this. this last year's heavy rotation included: Broken Social Scene , Pavement, Plump Dj's, Motorhead, Evil Nine, Spank Rock, Butterfly Explosion, Radiohead, Dj Shadow, Rob Da Bank, Bassbin Twins, Marcus Intalex, Erol Alkan, Radio Soulwax etc. mix cd's, any DJ worth his/her/their salt, Sting (older stuff), Janes Addiction, Zero 7, The Chems, FBS, Mazzy Star, Led Zep, Portishead, downtempobeatsbreakstriphoppy stuff. Shins, Nick Drake, Iron And Wine, Zero 7...all quality shit. Plus I gotta include Sun Kil Moon, Doves, Interpol, Arcade Fire, Apostle Of Hustle, The Real Tuesday Weld, and any new random music that infiltrates my live. seriously, i could g-o o-n foh-evah!
Movies
currently: Elephant Man, Machinist, Garden State, Eternal Sunshine, Rockers, Donnie Darko, and HERO. All time favorite is Goonies. Heavy rotation would be: Breakfast Club, Mad Max Trilogy, Super Troopers, The Burbs, Real Genius, Old School, Trainspotting, Friday, and any skateboarding flix. Also Will Farrell, Dave Chappelle and any random shit poppin up.
Television
Its Always Sunny In Philadelphia....best damn show in years
Books
Trying to put a dent in a novel by John Irving titled: Until I find you...for any SINGLE mid-twenty-somethings to early forty-somethings....YOU NEED THIS BOOK by Ethan Watters. Its called Urban Tribes. It dissects our own community(families) of friends and relates to many aspects of our busy yet somewhat misinterpreted lives...I highly recommend this book...and to those of you who know me...I don't read often:) ALSO: Hammer Of The Gods by Stephan Davis, Dune by Frank Herbert, Lance Armstrongs book was inspiring, Jrr Tolkien...pretty short list!
Heroes
My Grandads a real hero. Mom and Dad. man, there are so many and we don't even know it, ya know?
What's heroic for some might be daily life for another....so you decide. I just like the thought of 'everyday' heroes.

...Aiight!...where to begin..? um, I have no room in my life for people who complicate my life. I'm laid back. Easy going. Hard working. Hard playing.
And, extremely honest. i don't like drama (see above). I love meeting REAL people. no bullshitters.
Life is simple....black and white. I have no use for gray areas. People who live in gray ares...well, see above. There, thats the brief skinny on
who i am/who am i.
Interests are music first and foremost. this was recently tested after my last move. I had no cable or internet for 3.5 months and life was sweet. I rediscovered many old romances with cd's i forgot i had. listened to alot of NPR and took long catnaps....just listening, not watching, but thinking. its amazing how much of a distraction tv is. Anyways, I also love movies. When i moved to MI a few years ago i discovered the game of disc golf and now i'm an avid player and am building a course where i work. I'm also thinking of skateboarding again. I like to dj, house, breaks, etc. Beer is my comfort food. Pubs not AA meetings. I'm Dan and thanks for listening.
-thanks for sharing dan!
Who I'd like to meet: George dubbya and kick him in the shins. I'm not gonna list all the bands and celebs b.c they poop just like the rest of us and chances are its stinky too. no matter what they say...spray? And i have been able to meet some of them. And they're just people who i won't see enuff to build a relationship with...so, whatever. So I guess i like to meet 'like' minded people. not a clone of me, but an extension of my ideals and personality.
I'd like to meet your parents. Dating when i was growing up was best when i met the family...and i've been through some shit with dads espesh. But i believe that we are reflections of our upbringing and i like to meet the peeps who planted the trees and make sure they watered you enough growing up.
Laughter heals, so if ya got some funny, bring it. And lastly i'd like to meet someone who doesn't like music and try to figure them out.
Nice to meet y'all the other night in Ann Arbor. We had a great time, playing music and hanging out afterwards at The Circus. We are definitely looking forward to the next time. Cheers. Drew/TK
