With "Cold Wind Cold Rain”, Everitt has given us a pure Texas songwriter’s album. It won’t take too many passes for this disc to break in and become a personal favorite either, and promises to wear equally as well for years to come. I would suggest picking up two copies of this CD, one for you, and one for the person who wishes to steal your copy.

Here are some of my songs that have been recorded by other artists. It is such a thrill to hear other interpretations of the work. Check out all these artists because they consistantly give us their dead level best. I am hosting the occassional Songwriters Night in-the-round at McGonigels Mucky Duck in Houston, Texas. It is fun every time. This is not an open mic. But, speaking of open mics, I am hosting one north of Houston in the beautiful town of Tomball, Texas every Tuesday evening. If you are seriously interested in having your songs heard get in touch with me. In addition to that I am involved in a nation-wide HOUSE CONCERT series. We are looking for songwriters with a PA who would be willing to show up, set up, play two sets and pack up. These are guaranteed pay venues, exellent fan base-builders in your area as well as adds to your tours. Professionals only please.
The Academy of Texas Music nominated me for Singer/Songwriter Of The Year in 2007, 08 and now in 2009. My CD, "Cold Wind Cold Rain", is found at my website, MyTexasMusic.com, CDBaby, iTunes, Borders Book Stores in The Woodlands as well as Sigs Lagoon Record Store in Midtown Houston next door to the Continental Club. Special thanks to the Americana stations across Texas and this great land as well as across the pond who have added us to your playlists. THE PLAYERS: Here are just a few of their professional credits. The project was produced and recorded entirely at Jesi-Lu Studios in California by Terry Wilson (Jimmy Reed and Johnny Nash), with Billy Watts (Jackson Browne and Mojo Monkeys), Tony Braunagel (Robert Cray, Lyle Lovett, Grammy Award winning producer for Taj Mahal), Mark Shark (Bonnie Raitt and Zydeco Party Band), Teresa James (Delbert McClinton and Levon Helm), and Mike Finnigan (CS&N, Joe Cocker, Dave Mason and Dan Fogelberg). Throughout my career I have been privileged to record and perform with Dana Cooper, Susan Gibson, Jack Saunders, Gurf Morlix and many other noted Texas writers. Co-writers include Terry Wilson, Shake Russell, Red Young, Michael Hart, R.H. Everitt and Scott McGill. I am a New Folk winner at the Kerrville Folk Festival and a finalist in the 2006 Dallas Songwriters Association contest. My songs have been recorded by artists including Eric Burdon and the Animals, Brook Benton, Demis Russos, Scott McGill, Bob Bourgoin, Shake Russell, Coco Kallis and Teresa James. The video below is from the TMA night last spring. Shake was kind enough to ask me to accompany him on his beautiful song "Deep In The West". It was a day and night I will never forget. Thanks for supporting live music.

Danny Everitt - Join us in congratulating record producer Kim Copeland for her work on the Rachel Williams album, Lonely At The Bottom. Check this great review by R.K. Oermann with Music Row Magazine on Rachel's current single, The Only Thing Harder Than Leaving.
"She has the goods. This creeps up on you with cat’s paws. The languid pace, echoing instruments, spacious production and her hushed, aching delivery are all immensely seductive. The lyric of leaving home is full of terrific details. And her falsetto leaps in the bridge are like little daggers to the heart. A mini masterpiece. This, by the way, is the third single in a row that I have raved about from this performer. "
I like the new song, 'Get The Hook'. Very catchy melody, love the arrangement and a great vocal track. One of those songs that are hard to get out of your head. Ya done good!
