Influences
Early on it was Foreigner, Boston, Bobby Vinton, the Eagles, Elton John and though I hate to admit it now...Barry Manilow. But that's just the chick-flick side of me kicking in. Then as christian music began to broaden, I got turned on to the Resurrection band, Servant and Petra. It wasn't until I started college that I found out about Keith Green. I couldn't get enough of his message through music. He was the first musical artist that made me feel truly guilty about sin in my life. Before I had a chance to see him concert, his plane went down, but his music lived on. I had the opportunity to attend college with Rich Mullins. He had quite an awesome band back in the day called Zion. Eventually, the songs of Rich Mullins began to fill some strange musical void in my life that Keith Green's passing left behind. Then what do you know...Rich died. He went out like Elijah, which quite possibly could be the best song ever written. I don't know what happened after that, but I fell in love with country music. Story songs captured me and never let go. As a songwriter, it was Keith Green, Rich Mullins, Gary Diskell and Paul Overstreet that had a huge impact. Currently, I'm into the music of Buddy Jewell, Brad Johner, Trailer Choir, Watson and Nash, Sacred June, Cole Bruce, Amanda Fessant and none other than the acoustic driven sounds of Dan Gilliam. <div><a href="http://www.hit2map.com/myspace_map/br9ncpi0"> You've been marked on my visitor map!
