Los Angeles Times writer Bill Locey once referred to Danny Timms as "one of the (music) industry's premiere sidemen." Had Locey been a sportswriter instead of a music critic, he might as readily have designated Timms a music business MVP, for the multi-talented singer/songwriter/musician has proven himself to be an invaluable player to have on your team. Just ask Kris Kristofferson, Willie Nelson, Bonnie Raitt, or the many other industry legends who have counted on Danny's funky and soulful keyboard/guitar accompaniment and stellar supporting vocals over the years.
When Kristofferson added lyrics to a haunting Timms melody, the resulting song garnered critical acclaim for both writers and turned up as the title tune for Kristofferson's "Moment of Forever" release. Willie Nelson also chose it for the title cut on his Kenny Chesney-produced album this past year, and you can hear Danny's version on his "Chase the Feelin' CD and right here on this page.
Willie has called Danny Timms "one of the most talented humans I know"; Bonnie Raitt has said that he has a river of music running through his veins. If you've ever been around when Danny has opened one of those veins and let the music flow out of him, then you know exactly what they're talking about and are already a believer. If you haven't yet had the pleasure, then you've come to the right place. Enjoy the tunes, and thanks for listening.
Hi Danny. I was listening to Moment of Forever. So cool, so cool. What can I say man... This photo is from my gig two nights ago at the Old Palace Theater in Hollywood. What a grand old building that is. Wow. Philly and I could not resist including that famous structure from across the street to our before the show photo. Recognize it? Till next time Brother. Shane
