..WALKER - SONGWRITER, ROCK STAR, PRODUCER, AND ROCK N ROLL FAN: The kid is hooked – an absolute junkie for rock and roll songwriting. Danny Walker, singer/songwriter for HANDSOME DEVIL, has been blessed in the business of rock n' roll and is still very hungry. With two major label cuts, “Makin’ Money” (Handsome Devil-RCA) and “Forgiven” (Wank-Maverick), co-writes with platinum rock group Lit under his belt, and having released 9 records over the last 9 years, Walker remains driven in his pursuit of the song. He quips, “I’m a fan of rock n’ roll – a sucker for a great song.” At age 14, Danny played bass in his first band, Norwegian Wood, a Beatles tribute band with his high school buddies. He moved on to play lead guitar in several cool bands, and then studied business at Chapman University. While in college, Walker formed WANK, a punk rock band with a melodic spin. Danny played the role of lead guitarist/songwriter and collaborated with Social Distortion front man Mike Ness in the studio. On producing WANK, Ness said, "I'm not easily impressed. It's not everyday that a band catches my ear. Putting three chords to a melody and not sounding generic is not that easy to do." Their album, “Get A Grip On Yourself,” was released in 1998 on Maverick records, and WANK toured relentlessly (Warped Tour, Social D, the Damned, Goldfinger, the Specials, and the Vandals) to support it – what a blast. Other WANK albums include “Paper Dolls,” and “Animals of Discontent.” Walker and Billie Stevens (also from WANK) called on hard-hitting drummer Keith Morgan and bassist Brian Wedmore to form HANDSOME DEVIL, where Danny changed roles, becoming a lead singer/songwriter. With the production team of Jeremy Popoff (Lit) and Ed Stasium (Ramones), HANDSOME DEVIL released their debut album, Love and Kisses from the Underground on September 11, 2001. It was a hell of a time to support a record, but HANDSOME DEVIL persevered, touring the nation 4 times over the year that followed (with the likes of Social Distortion, Lit, Hoobastank, the Used, Zebrahead, Lost Prophets, and Warped Tour). Handsome Devil albums, “Love and Kisses from the Underground” (2001), “Knock Yourself Out” (2004), and “Fully Automatic” (2006), have received critical acclaim and have provided the foundation for an explosive live show, and Walker savors every moment of it, "My band HANDSOME DEVIL will kick your ass!!!" Walker and Handsome Devil spent three weeks in Germany, Kosovo, and Bosnia entertaining US and NATO forces in 2008. Walker recently went to Nashville, TN to participate in a Songwriter Boot camp and study under country hit guru, Jeffrey Steele, who's written several hit songs for Tim Graw, Rascall Flatts, etc. In 2007, Walker released 3 CDs of raw cuts (“Vol I - King Bee,” “Vol II – I’m an Animal,” and “Vol III – Rock Salt Highway”) from his studio archives as well as a punk rock concept album, “The Demise of Johnny Creeper.” Walker’s songs have found their way into film (Out Cold, Mr. Deeds, Paulie Shore is Dead, Ultimate X, Bad Reputation), television (Malcolm in the Middle, Smallville, Family Law, MTV), X-Box, and into the ears of fans, for which he is most grateful. In 2008, Walker founded ROCKERS IN THE ROUND, an intimate and raw “acoustic-in-the-round” live show, Danny performs acoustically, sharing the stage with amazing songwriters Jeremy Popoff (Lit), Brian Coakley (Cadillac Tramps), Steve Soto (Adolescents), and Gene Louis (Bullets and Octane). Walker is currently writing and recording new songs on his infinite quest for the rock n roll truth. “I must be the luckiest dog on the street. I’m so thankful for my family, my friends, my band, our fans, and rock n roll. I love you all!”CLICK THE RECORDS BELOW, LISTEN, and ROCK OUT!
