When I do watch TV, it usually involves watching a sporting event or highlights because I don't have much time to watch anything else anymore.
Jay Sherman in The Critic
Nonetheless, I love anything that makes me laugh. It's amazing how often I turn on the TV and the channel is set on Comedy Central. I'll drop what I'm doing if I happen to be home and awake during the first segment of Late Night with Conan O'Brien. Back in the day, I was a huge fan of Whose Line Is It Anyway? (both the British and American versions). I wish someone still showed the reruns of Jon Lovitz's wonderful animated series, The Critic. And I must admit that I'll pause sometimes for The Daily Show with Jon Stewart or The Colbert Report.

If I watch the news, I generally turn on Fox 6 Milwaukee because I was an intern in their sports department in 2005.
Cheri Oteri, Will Ferrell and Paula Abdul on Saturday Night Live
I used to be a music video addict, but it's hard to catch a lot of videos since the music networks (specifically VH1) never seem to play them anymore. I also used to love Saturday Night Live, but it hasn't been solid overall since Dana Carvey left and it hasn't engaged me at all since the last of the "Celebrity Jeopardy!" sketches.
My Dad (Tom Pfeifer): I never really understood how big of a heart he had, or how many people loved him, until he had his stroke in 2003. To see him everyday, to see how positive his attitude remains, and to see how much he still puts others first in his life, despite all his own struggles, is nothng but inspirational.
Harry Caray: Being a Brewers fan inherently means despising the Cubs, however, I have to respect how Harry pulled it off. He began as a solid broadcaster, one of the best in the business, with the Cardinals and White Sox. But he blossomed with the Cubs, becoming perhaps the best of all time by developing a love affair with the fans unmatched by any broadcaster and team in history. Why? He recognized it was about fun and living life, not about X's and O's and wins and losses. Even when his words became hard to understand, his energy was understood universally and that was what mattered.
His job allowed him to watch baseball and sit outside in the sun all day; he got to drink more than his fair share of beer in life; he sang on a daily basis; he loved the fans; the fans loved him back; he did what he loved until the very end and his last waking moment came dancing with the person he most loved, his wife. Sounds like the life for me.
Gene Kelly: A lot of guys who do any sort of partner dancing end up in the Fred Astaire camp -- looking graceful, but also frail, kinda wimpy and like they've got a stick shoved squarely up a bodily orifice. Kelly, meanwhile, once said the following: "I arrived in Hollywood twenty pounds overweight and as strong as an ox. But if I put on a white tails and tux like Astaire, I still looked like a truck driver."
Nonetheless, he took his strength, power and athleticism and became an awesome dancer, relying heavily on ballet but not subscribing to any one style in particular, instead focusing on creating a unique style of dance all his own.
Kelly was a dancer but also a man's man. He once said he never planned to be a dancer as a kid, instead growing up wanting to be a shortstop for the Pittsburgh Pirates. Kelly did what most guys won't and admitted that he started dancing to meet girls. He also once said of Astaire, "[He] represented the aristocracy. I represented the proletariat."
Guys like Kelly made it cool for men to dance, and as such, I salute him.

You're a swing dancer who attends events around Milwaukee ... or used to take my lessons with the UWM Swing Dance Society ... or met me at one of the many events I've attended out of town.
The reason I started on MySpace was because I was told it was a good idea by the fine folks at 1250 back in July 2006. As it turns out, I grew to enjoy it. While I may not be on the air much anymore, I certainly still have plenty of opinions about what our sports teams are doing and, as I always was, I'm still a huge fan. Check out The Bubbler Sportsblog for more.
I've never been the most social beast in the world, but if there's any time I break out of my shell, it's when I go out for a night of swing. I can't imagine what life would be like if I didn't have dancing to look forward to. If you haven't tried it, don't knock it. Oh, and for all you guys that think it's not very 'macho': Um, yeah, the hottest, sexiest, friendliest, and overall most amazing women I've met in my life are all dancers -- and, with the right bluesy song (yes, swing is more than just big band standards), my partners and I have been known to steam up some windows. Send me a message if you want to know how to give it a shot!
I've gotta admit, I still think a lot about my days back at Central. I miss all the folks I knew back there and the spirit we started to build by the time I left. I was lucky to be at BCHS when a lot of great things were going on. You don't forget times that special. I know I made a lot of friends at UWM, too, and I'm hoping that a lot of them haven't disappeared.
What else? Well, in my spare time, I enjoy working out, listening to music and pop culture in general. I have a nasty weakness for unhealthy food, particularly a good cheeseburger, but I try and make up for it on the elliptical machine. I do occasionally enjoy a "night of trouble," as I like to call it, on Water Street or North Avenue. But I pride myself on being a good guy, someone with values; an All-American guy that's just doing the best he can to get by on a day-to-day basis and doing what he loves in the process.
That said, enjoy the program!
My Jobs:
I work for QuadGraphics, specifically QuadData Solutions, in West Allis, Wis. as a Database Analytics Processor. My job, in basic, is to help get your catalog to you correctly and quickly by making sure our database software has your information listed in our systems correctly.
I still dabble a little with various sports-related jobs as well. I'm proud to say that I am the public address announcer and music coordinator for the Women's and Men's Soccer teams at Marquette University. We make the games a lot of fun, so make sure you join us at Valley Fields.
In general, I enjoy meeting people who have depth. I don't care for folks that don't want to think or ... well, care. Beyond that, though, I'm generally kind of a "keep to myself" kind of guy.
Of course, I might be waiting to meet that "significant other." Then again, she might be someone I know already and I don't know she's the girl yet, or maybe I think she's the girl but we're not understanding how we can make each other's lives better yet. Then again, I'm also to the point now where "contentedly single" describes my status, just because I enjoy having all the time and energy to do what I want, when I want to, without having to worry about anyone else. Nonetheless, if a girl comes along that's willing to have a casual relationship that might turn into something more down the line, I'm OK with that, too. I have one little caveat for any prospect: Whoever she is, she has to be a non-smoker.
To be honest, I've gotten a chance to meet a lot of the 'famous' people I've wanted to meet over time -- for all the folks that might list athletes or broadcasters on their list, I used to see them on a daily basis through my job (and most of them aren't much to write home about). But I'd love to meet a president, sitting or former, and like every guy, there's a bevy of attractive celebrity females I'd love to say I at least got to shoot the breeze with. I won't bore you with a list since there aren't any real surprizes, but I'd have to start with Kathy Ireland.
I'd like to have a lengthy sit-down someday with former Wisconsin governor and former presidential candidate Tommy G. Thompson, just because I loved his down-to-Earth leadership style in his 14 years running our state.
