Dan Possumato. I often play with the following musicians: John Walsh (tenor banjo), Mark Ward (fiddle), Tom Walker (bouzouki), Ken Karabelnikoff (guitar), Gerard McDonnell (bodhrán), Jamie O'Brien (guitar). Playing on the CD with me are Irish musicians Quentin Cooper, Jerry Mulvihill, Alan Wallace, and Laura Mulcahy.

Influences
Jackie Daly, Sharon Shannon, Clancy Brothers, Liam Clancy, Pete Seeger (whose banjo was inscribed with the words "Surround Hate and Force it to Surrender"), Woody Guthrie, Mary Staunton, John Bass (melodeon), Planxty, Dervish, Joe Cooley, all the players at the fleadh Cheoil na hEireann melodeon competitions. By the way, my favorite performer/song writer of all time is Bob Dylan.
I was born on St. Patrick's Day in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Since leaving home I have lived in Maryland, West Virginia, Virginia, Germany, Alaska, and now Oregon. I have played Irish music on the melodeon (one-row box) and two-row button accordion since the late 1970's. I lived in Germany for a total of 15 years, and during that time I went to Ireland at least once a year, oftentimes more (the US dollar was fairly strong during those years!). I retired from the U.S. Army in 2005, and now I occasionally tour in the USA with different musicians, and I hope to someday have a tune or two with many of the friends I've made here on MySpace that I haven't yet met! Hello Dan! I'd like to invite you to come see us play this upcoming Friday (9/12) at the 9 Muses Acoustic Pub on Belmont with AMADAN's acoustic side-project band, THE REELKEEPERS. We're starting around 7 PM and the door is $5. We're driving up from Corvallis & would really appreciate the support. Thanks a lot & hope to see you there!
I'd like to invite you to see us play at the Hawthorne Theater lounge this upcoming Saturday. We'll be starting around 9 PM and the cover is $3. We could really use the support, as we're making the trip up from Corvallis. It'd be great to see you there - CHEERS!
Thanks for the add & nice comments! We do have a lot of fun playing together. We'd love to have an accordionist ... too bad you're all the way up in Portland. : )
Hey thanks Dan, yep we will be having tunes. Not sure if it will be anyone besides Tim and myself, but that's enough anyway.
FÁILTE - welcome and thanks a lot for taking the time to include a message ... much appreciated. Lovely tunes here and the playing reminds me of Kimmel ... Germany I suppose :)
