Dan Rose played his first solo-gig in September 2007, just days after leaving his last band.
Having previously gigged (and released songs through the danish BSBTA Label group) with a few different bands for a couple of years, he went his own way.
Sources of inspiration includes Bright Eyes, Scout Niblett, Alfred Hitchcock,
Kirsten Dunst, Saddle Creek Records, Tigerspring and red wine.
The songs are personal and quite often filled with bitterness, resent and hopeful confusion. Though technically somewhat a singer/songwriter, these songs are not delivered with the typical melancholic elegance and surrendering attitude of many singer/songwriters.
The mordant words and determined guitar playing keeps this from being coffee-shop background music.
Having played solo-gigs across Denmark (and outside this puny country) for about a year and a half, Dan Rose has positioned himself in the underground scene as a confident performer with something on his mind and the nerve to say it.
Thanks for add. Lady Lux is the hit of the page (my opinion), but people should pay attention to other things too. For example the woman-like noises on "I saw you.." are not as important as a strange guitar-chord - some psychedelic transformation of the sound of a very old clockwork. I think this guy could make music for horror-movies - just using acoustic guitar. /Sniper 1
I spoke to Tee at Blockbuster today, he went to your profile and Loved your music, I told him to add you. If not go to my profile he is there. He was very serious...I was so Happy! My Grandma is doing better! x0 sweetie!
