DANSA DRUMMING offers high-energy, drumming and percussion music derived from West African rhythms. The upbeat tempos and melodic song create an enthusiasm and energy that encourages participation and fun.
The music is appropriate for a wide variety of life's venues including house/ company parties, weddings and birthday parties, sporting events, festivals and other social functions. DANSA DRUMMING has become well known in the running community for it's upbeat performance during road races where runners are lifted by the rhythm of the drums, inspired to run faster, or just enjoy the race day experience. The ensemble has performed at a variety of other public and corporate events including the Calgary Stampede, Canada Day, Dragon Boat Races, Corporate "Survivor" parties, Lilac Day Festival and the Sun and Salsa Festival.
We can play acoustically, and therefore can be very portable, although our preference is to be amplified so we can include vocals and facilitate interaction with the audience.
DANSA DRUMMING has two CD's in circulation. The first entitled, Celebrate Life, was released in 2001. Our second CD is called Pulse and was released in 2003.
Members of DANSA DRUMMING are graduates of Arthur Hull's Hawaii Facilitator's Playshop 2002 as certified 'Drum Circle Facilitators'. Drum circles encourage expression of spirit and fun in the hearts of participants of all ages. Our services are available to help organize and facilitate both community and corporate drum circles.
