Dan's solo debut, "Last Chance to Do Nothing", was recorded in 1997 near Berklee College of Music in Boston. A cast of Berklee students and alumni lent their talent to help create a sylistically diverse 14 -song album in just 10 days. When it finally made its way online in 2000 it garnered over 15,000 plays on a then independent MP3.com in just over a year. Eight out of the fourteen tracks were ranked #8 or higher in the Austin download rankings with three songs reaching the coveted #1 slot.
Dans latest release, "The Gravity of Habit" (2006) evolved in the clubs of
Austin, TX. It was recorded with Dan's veteran group in Austin and completed
upon his return to Washington DC. It is a return to the hook-driven, thoughtful, dissections of the things in life that move us. Whether describing emotion, introspection, or pouring over the thoughts within a single moment, each song invites one to take a deep look into its meaning or to simply enjoy the sound at its musical surface.
Yo Dan! Thanks for adding me to your friends. I was supposed to send along some music to you a long time ago, and then...VERY LONG AND COMPLICATED STORY!! What matters is: I am here, I am back as a bass player (life got in the way for a few years)and I still remember you and your pet chinchilla and I still listen to the tracks I recorded with you, and I just smile, remembering how much fun I had working with you. By the way, if you ever need a bass track just say so, and I will record and email one to you, at NO charge, of course! Your page looks really nice, your new music sounds great...WAY TO GO DAN!!!! :) Anyway, have a Happy Easter!
