Dan Siegler is a composer, producer and songwriter from New York City. He has contributed music to many projects in film, TV, theater and modern dance and has written songs with and produced a wide variety of singer/songwriters.
Siegler's unique electronic/orchestral scores have been called "eerie, churchly and jazzy.." by the Village Voice. He has received grants from Meet the Composer, the Jerome foundation and the Mary Cary Flagler Charitable Trust and his work for choreographers Pam Tanowitz and Yanira Castro has been performed at The Guggenheim Museum, Danspace project, Dance Theater Workshop and Central Park Summerstage. A remixed collection of these scores called "Errors" is now available on itunes and CD Baby and other digital distribution sites.
Siegler's song "Maybe" won the Olman Scholarship award from the National Academy of Popular Music and the Songwriters Hall of Fame. "Maybe" was also featured in the Ted Demme film "Monument Avenue" and was covered by the pop/jazz artist Deanna Kirk.
Siegler co-produced "Puzzle", the debut CD from founding Fishbone member Christopher Dowd, which featured Jeff Buckley.
Siegler has also worked with Ruff Ryder recording artist L.T., Morley, Julian Fleisher and Suzi Shelton among others. He has composed scores for TV projects including work for HBO and FOX. Other work in film includes a jazz score for "The Other Side of the Street", a documentary on the life and times of legendary journalist Jimmy Breslin.
