Dante Jones has been making electronic music in one guise or another since 1981. His first 'synth' was a ZX81. It made no sound. However, feeding the thing back into a tape deck and exploiting the CPU noise to play scales.
Moving onto a Commodore 64, Dante Jones got his first taste of electronic music composition. Using 'Electro Sound' and 'Ubiks Music' DJ created soundtracks for both the games he was writing in 6502 Assembler as well as submitting one of the first purely computer composed music for his O'Level music.
Eventually progressing to the Amiga A500, Dante Jones released a number of popular Industrial music demos out into the public domain scene under the name '500 Things...'
Taking a brief hiatus between 1993-1995, '500 Things...' came back as a hobby and a break from the day job creating music for personal please and rarely for public consumption.
In the early 2000's Collaborated with spoken word artist from San Francisco, Andrea Renee Johnson, to form 'AndJuliet'. This transatlantic relationship spawn two successful online EPs.
Dropping the '500 Things...' name, Dante Jones went onto release a popular online mashup mix that took such weird turns as blending Shakira with Mouse On Mars, and Public Enemy with the soundtrack from Signs.
Now, Dante Jones returns to his roots creating distorted, dub heavy, chip tune glancing, movie sampling, beat mangling tunes - mixing this up with the occasional acoustic pieces on his album, 'Conelrad'. Given away as a free download in return for a donation to UNICEF, the album is a homage to classic horror, UFO conspiracy, Cold War propaganda, and the pioneers of space travel.
