Danu Fox, voice, harmonium, flutes, piano, percussion.
Graeme de Lyons, drums, harmonium and percussion.
Brian Boothby, djembe, irish whistles.
Joe Cang, bass, guitar, cahon and percussion.
Danu's latest quartet brings together her own eclectic experience with the leader of Tomorrow's Ancestors Brian Boothby and a previous Blockhead and arch songwriter Joe Cang. This gives the sound a strong percussive energy bridging the gap between dance music, jazz, new age and folk roots. (Aagh! I hate labels. Listen for yourself!)
Danu is also joined by double bass player Pete Kubryk-Townsend in her latest CD 'People of One Earth'.

"Danu is a singer with an inspiring voice and an all round musician of distinction." - Michael Tingle (Natural recording studio)
An accomplished jazz singer (Guildhall postgraduate) she has also studied Hindustani Raag singing and shamanism as well as her original study as a pianist.
All this blends together to bring about a unique sound - she sings and improvises often in pure syllables, reminding us of something ancient, primal and yet deeply familiar. Her voice touches you, makes you remember who you are and what life is for. Sensual, ecstatic, hypnotic and passionate - there aren't many women singers who do that.
What the listeners say:
'Your voice floods through our home, inducing trance and sublime altered states. thankyou, love you, come and sing this land'.
'A truly transformational experience.'
'I was being transported to the four corners of the world'.
'Your voice and music hit my heart like a thunderbolt, amazing.'
"The energy of everything flows like the great rivers of the earth, naturally rolling and splashing, slipping and spiraling through the paths of least resistance toward the swelling, dreaming sea. Our life began in the waters of our mother's living womb. Grandmother Moon pulls and releases the ocean tides and the water in our bodies allowing energy and intuition to flow freely through our feelings and our spirits. Water has memory and is alive, responding to our emotions and healing old sorrows, teaching us playfully to release and renew. Water evaporates from the sea and transpires from trees to return as cleansing, life giving rain. All life needs clean water to survive. The spirit and sacredness of water is honored by all people who respect life. Swimming or floating in pools and lakes, streams and rivers our bodies and bright spirits receive the wisdom of water, honoring our emotions, remembering the love and mysteries of our source, embraced in wholeness and serenity."
“We are singing songs of praise. We are praying and thanking our ancestors for being with us through this difficult time. We are happy to be going back to our home. It's our home and not a game reserve. We are pleased that the judges too were able to see that we need to be reunited with our ancestors.” (Xukurii, Botswanan Bushman).
