"An outstanding, emerging talent - harbouring the depths of Dylan and performed with a contemporary edge.” - Hilary Robinson Producer, BBC Radio 2

You can download the album 'Diamond Land' from iTunes now by clicking on the below link.

Dan Webster

Dan was born in a fishing boat five hundred metres from the shore near Scarborough, England; his mother’s waters broke as she pulled lobster pots on board. Later that day, his parents arrived home to realise they had left Dan amongst the still-writhing catch and brought back a rare orange lobster by mistake (lobsters are usually blue and turn orange only after cooking - about one in a million are orange, I think I saw that on Blue Peter or something). Dan Webster’s music reflects the way he entered the world; earnest and confused, talking of love, loss, politics, corruption and war. He doesn’t have all the answers, but sings with a gentle salt-whipped whimsy that onlookers have said is really quite beautiful, tapping into the consciousness of a generation searching for change.

The album ‘Diamond Land’ is a journey from folk infused tracks like 'Diamond Land' and 'Fishing' to the bitter-sweet alt-country sounds of 'Caroline' and 'Borrowed and Blue', right through to the driving sounds and twisted angst of 'Like Hell'. All provide a beautiful platform for Webster’s story telling that touches the soul.

Each song flows effortlessly into the next, in part down to the skilful production of the album by Webster and Simpson exploiting the depths of each song while showing a restraint in production which retains the integrity of the performance.

Live, Dan has supported many international acts including Glen Tilbrook, Midge Ure, Martin Carthy, Nick Harper and Clive Gregson to name a few. Dan has also made a number of UK festival appearances at events such as The Beverley Folk Festival and Musicport among others, as well as the many many venues across the country Dan has played over the last few years. "Live, Dan is now, quite simply, immense."

Order a copy of the new album 'Diamond Land' by going to www.danwebster.co.uk and clicking on the 'Buy the album now: PayPal' button - £10 (plus £1.50 p&p). If you live in the United States you can click on the album cover and buy direct from CDBABY.COM!
