Influences
The biggest influence in my life is Jesus. I'm a Christian and I'm not ashamed to say it. Music are what feelings sound like; you're listening to my heart. My influences, like everyone else's, come from what surrounds me. Listen awhile, you'll figure it out. I'm inspired by the people, places, and situations I run into. The things that try to influence me are the same as the things that try to influence you...we just might have chosen to be influenced by different ones.
Sounds Like
A dream. The start of a movement. A new generation. A generation unashamed of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

I have a story. Let me sing it to you; let me play it for you. I've noticed lately that I'm never more vulnerable than when I'm on stage. My heart is in my music. My music is something God has called me to use for His glory. When I was six years old, I decided I wanted to be a "rockstar," and my mind hasn't changed yet! :) I just didn't know how it was going to happen. But God did.
Sometimes I have to remind myself that God has a much bigger plan than anything I could ever hope or imagine. One day can change a person. One person can change your life. One life can change the world. It doesn't always happen quite like you pictured it, but when you're in God's Hands, it always happens just like it should. God has everything ready, it just takes us saying yes when He asks us to go...and each time I say yes...well...it's kind of like being in a slingshot. :)
I have always been passionate about my faith, but my passion was really awakened in 2006, and it shows in my songwriting. One in particular, called "Generation Jesus", became my anthem and my prayer. It's time to set the world on fire! I'm tired of sitting still and just watching this world fall farther away from Jesus. I don't want my generation to become just another statistic. It's time to be the different, the unashamed. We don't live FOR the now, we live IN the now and FOR eternity. This song, like many others, is a call to arms. We so often get on that mountaintop in a God-high and then start something we don't finish. Well, there's a war going on and whether we want to fight or not won't change that. We choose the side we want to be on every day. Sometimes, we choose the wrong one. But it's time to realize that GOD IS BIGGER. Yes, it might mess up the way you're living and it might shake up some of your relationships. And we're gonna make mistakes, we're human. But in Jesus, we can overcome those mistakes! His love is more powerful than any failures! I want people to see that being in the love of God is worth everything! Living the life He's called us to is better than anything else we can imagine! I'm striving to glorify my God everyday. Because at the end of it all, He's not going to ask me if I "lived it up" while I could. He's going to ask me if I lived for Him.
I have found my identity and my freedom and my passion in Jesus Christ. He gives me an unspeakable joy and an incredible love. I hope you hear that in my songwriting, from the passion I have to fight for the souls of my generation to the passion I have to laugh and dance in the love of Jesus. My songs have become diverse and scattered over different genres. From hardcore to pop to punk to jazz, I find that I can express my heart better in a variety of melodies. I mean, hey, we don't try to fit God in a box, why try to confine His music? The longest book of the Bible is Psalms, after all. =)
Lately, a lot of things have started happening with this music. God has opened doors. I've headlined at Nashville venues like the Muse and Rocketown. I've played with artists including Charmaine, Denver and the Mile High Orchestra, Me in Motion, and Kronicles. I travel to lead worship in Nashville and at events in New Orleans, North Caroline, Indiana, Kentucky, and Iowa, including conferences with Proverbs 31 Ministries. We're working on a new CD project and preparing to play over the summer at events including the ICHTHUS festival.
God's moving, and when He moves, things change. Are You Ready?
