About me: Danza Fiesta - Baile y Teatro Puertorriqueño is a Puerto Rican Folk Dance & Theater Company based in New York City. Promising a unique glimpse of the life, culture, and art of Puerto Rico the company offers a visual reminder of the diversity of the people who contributed to the richness of our culture and heritage.
Under the direction of artistic director, dancer, scholar, instructor, and choreographer Gilda Rivera Pantojas, Danza Fiesta - Baile y Teatro Puertorriqueño repertoires celebrates the delightful dance traditions and motley costumes of cultures of Puerto Rico and Latin America. The repertoire includes a rich array of dances from all over Puerto Rico and Latin America, including traditional dances handed down over generations, careful historical recreations, fusion pieces, and dances that interpret ancient stories for modern audiences.
Since its inception in 1998, Danza Fiesta - Baile y Teatro Puertorriqueño has grown from a group of three dancers to a professional company of twenty, amateur, & professional dancers, actors, musicians, and supporting staff who hail from New York, Connecticut, Puerto Rico, Ecuador, and Dominican Republic.
Danza Fiesta - Baile y Teatro Puertorriqueño is available for a variety of bookings, including evening-length repertory concerts and highly-tailored shows for organizations looking to meet specific performance needs. Danza Fiesta - Baile y Teatro Puertorriqueño also offers combined performance and teaching residencies, dance-on-camera concerts, and lecture-demonstrations that combine work for children and adults.

A Conversation with Quiara Alegria Hudes on November 17th at 6:30pm at Teatro SEA (107 Suffolk Street, 2nd floor).
This will be a conversational symposium celebrating the creative process of a writer through the story telling from Puerto Rican writer, Quiara Alegria Hudes, who wrote the book for the Tony Award Winning Musical, In the Heights. This conversational symposium will focus on how story telling is developed, shaped and affected by collaboration, mission and the responsibility of giving real Latino work to our Hispanic artists in the NY industry.
This event is perfect for aspiring writers and performing artists to attend, and finally have the opportunity to ask those questions they feel are always left unanswered.
