Da Pupz is made up of 2 criminals and rappers who go by the street names Reg Soda and B Originale. Reg soda and B Originale both met in chino state pen where they started the Power duo DA PUPZ. In May 2005 Da Pupz were approached by Brown Flower productions to produce a documentary about the group and the "Alba-Qurky" sound, the term given to the revolutionary style of street music produced by Da Pupz.
The Pupz first single to become a hot commodity on New Mexico college radio was called "Come 'Round Back (nigga)", which was released in September 2004. In addition to Da Pupz it featured up and coming artists, Shur- Lee, Crapmaster D, Biggin Sexy, and was produced by legendary Alba-Qurky producer Cuddlebunny K of the Laurel Canyon Krew (LCK).
Asked about what their music means to them, Da Pupz B Original took a long hit of his ever present crack pipe and replied " Nigga I am out of my muthafuckin mind, son. Let me tell you something about Da Pupz... We fuckin love Koo Koo Roo."
When Michael Browning of VIBE magazine asked Reg Soda what it was like to be so popular on local stations during a phone interview in early 2005, Reg replied "Suck my prick you honky poofter.... it feels good. Like pussy. You gotta jus' take that pussy, mang. Take that shit."
