D’arch is a Turkish band from Turkey .. Ankara, formed in December 2005 with three close friends: Gurhan on drums, Fatih on rhythm guitar and Sinan on flute. These three friends chose the genre of Symphonic Metal which doesn’t have many followers both in Turkey and around the world compared to the other genres. When looked from the point of musicality, a group of this genre needs harmony and a wide range of instruments and as a result of this, besides musical harmony, the group members also needed to be in characteristic harmony and penetration. In addition to these, a group of such a genre achieves their music by combining the indispensable instruments of classical (western and eastern) music with pure instruments of rock music - so that by combining two different genres in different melodic resonances and visualities- and plays their audience unique melodies. These were the reasons that made those three close friends to pick up and perform Symphonic Metal.
In a very short time, their school mates Hilmi (on bass) and Ozan (on solo guitar) joined the group, which started to lay the foundation of the group, but there was a problem. A name for the band to could correspond to the genre that was being performed, express the characteristics of the band, a name that could easily be recalled and also has the abyss of meaning was needed. As a result of some brainstorming sessions made with the group members, the combination of the words “Dark” and “Arch”, and interaction with the French Commander Jeanne D’arc, the name D’arch was found. This name was thought to be a word that had no meaning in any language, simple as it was thought but also had the semantic abyss and it was a suitable name as a synthesis of some concepts, for a group playing such a synthesis genre.
After some time, with the completion of the group’s establishment, D’arch started to take place in festivals and to make bar programs. D’arch, getting experienced by having concerts in many places of Ankara, improved them day by day. After these concerts, for some reasons, D’arch had to change some of the group members and later resumed their practices.
Again after having a lot of concert and festival experiences, D’arch increased their practices on their compositions and recorded their first one-track demo “Desert Storm”. Group continued with the same members for a while but after some time, again they had to change some of the group members and by these changes D’arch finally reached its current members. At the moment, D’arch has released its second demo “Olumu Beklerken” with its current members and is having concerts within the tour of their last demo. Also in fall 2009 D’arch will start recording their first album and during 2010 they will be on tour – both in Turkey and abroad.
In December 2008, Onursal TUNCER took over the works of management of the group from Fatih, who carried on up to that date, and by signing a management contract they left management works to professionals.

D'arch , 2005 yılının aralık ayında davulda Gürhan, ritim gitarda Fatih ve yan flütte Sinan olmak üzere üç yakın arkadaş tarafından kuruldu. Bu üç arkadaş Türkiye'de ve dünyada diğer müzik tarzlarına oranla çok fazla icrası ve takipçisi bulunmayan , müzikal açıdan bakıldığında bir hayli uyum ve enstrümantalite gerektiren yanı sıra kalabalık bir ekiple çalışılması dolayısıyla grup içerinde bulunan müzisyenler arasında müzikal uyum haricinde karakteristlik açıdan da üst seviyede bir uyum ve anlayış gerektiren , klasik batı ve doğu müziğinin vazgeçilmez enstrümanlarını , yine rock müziğin salt enstrümanlarına entegre ederek , hem melodisel tınlamada , hem de görsel yapıda , iki ayrı tarzı birbirine karıştırarak elde edilen ve dinleyiciye özgün melodiler sunan Senfonik Metal tarzını icra etme hevesiyle müzisyen aramaya koyuldular .
Kısa zaman içerisinde okuldan da arkadaşları olan bas gitarda Hilmi ve solo gitarda Ozan'ın da kadroya dahil olması ile grubun temelleri artık atılmış oluyordu . Fakat , gruba yapılacak tarz ile örtüşebilen , kendi içinde karakteristik bir ifade taşıyan , akılda kalıcı ama bir o kadar da anlamsal derinlik barından etkileyici bir isim gerekliydi . Grup içerinde yapılan beyin fırtınaları sonunda , 'Dark ve Arch' kelimelerinin birleşimi ve Fransız komutan Jean D'arc ile etkileşimiyle birlikte her hangi bir dilde anlamsal karşılığı bulunmayan , düşünüldüğü gibi basit ama anlamsal derinlik taşıyan ,sentez bir tarza yine sentez bir isim yakışacağını düşünerek grubun isminin D'arch olması kararına vardılar .
İlerleyen zaman içerisinde kadronun tamamlanması ile birlikte D'arch , festivallerde yer almaya ve bar programları düzenlemeye başladı . Ankara'nın bir çok yerinde sahne deneyimi edinen grup , her geçen gün müzikal açıdan kendini geliştirmeye devam ediyordu . Bu konserlerden sonra bir takım sebeplerden ötürü D'arch müzisyen değişikliğine gitme durumda kaldı . Yaşınılan bu değişimlerden sonra D'arch kaldığı yerden devam ediyordu .
Yine bir çok festival ve konser deneyiminden sonra beste çalışmalarına hız veren grup tek parçalık ilk demosu 'Desert Storm' u kaydedtti . Bir süre aynı kadro ile devam eden grup , ilerleyen zaman içinde yeniden müzisyen değişimi ile karşı karşıya kaldı . Bu sayede şu an ki son kadrosuna ulaşan D'arch ikinci demoları olan 'Ölümü Beklerken' i çıkarmış ve şu anda bu demo albümün tanıtım konserlerinde sahne almaktadır.
2008 aralık ayına kadar D'arch'ın menajerlik işlerini Fatih yürütmüş ve bu tarihten itibaren Onursal TUNCER ile menajerlik sözleşmesi imzalayarak , menajerlik olayını profesyonel ellere teslim etmiştir.

Put together the first music video for one of the songs, that being for the song "Eel Marsh House", which is based on the movie "The Woman In Black". Wasn't sure to name it that instead of 'Eel Marsh..." ...Eel Marsh House being where the woman in black 'lived', and now haunts it. Though, she seems to haunt the general area of the village as well as the House. If anyone catches her gaze, looks into her eyes....a child will die, usually from the family of the person unfortunate to look at her. As you see what happens to the story's main character at the end.
