About Darci

Darci Warner, a mother, professional cake decorator and bakery manager, uses her creative talents to show how almost anybody can create and decorate for those special occasions creating unforgettable memories for all to share!

Darci has inspired others with her genuine personality and endearing smile to just "keep on going" in this hectic world we live in. She was a single mother while working full time as a cake decorator and attending college full time for Computer Science. She accomplished all this while raising her son on her own.

Family members and business associates always praised Darci and encouraged her to use her creative skills since day one. Her grandmother and mother sewed and made special cakes for birthdays and other occasions. At the same time her dad was an Electrical Engineer for a computer firm so there was always a computer in the home. Darci's father taught her Basic Programming Language and by the age of twelve she had written a program for her Barbie Dolls, an airline ticket kiosk.

Darci has never been afraid of taking risks. While working as a bakery manager and head decorator, she realized that she had hit the 'glass ceiling'. So she quit and got a job at a small Donut Shop, figuring that sometimes you need to take a step backwards to get ten steps forward. After about six months at the Donut Shop, a man who frequented that shop hired Darci to be an Internet Developer during the rise of the Internet craze. She learned quickly and was one of the best in the firm. From there she was hired as a Senior Internet Application Developer for a large entertainment studio in Burbank, California. Darci learned she was looking at motherhood again, so she and her husband moved their family to Carson City, Nevada where she could raise her boys and spend more time with family.

After settling in and wanting to be active in something that she could also stay at home with her family, Darci realized the need for good, quality and entertaining cake decorating "How To" videos. With the help of her family, "Darci Decorates" was born. After filming the first video, Darci also saw the need for a television show that a real "mom" could relate to and learn from to give their own family those beautiful lasting memories everyone wishes for. Her idea was to create a show for the busy person who may also be struggling to make ends meet, an easy way to create fun and memories for their loved ones to treasure.

Darci believes in enjoying life and diving into new projects whether it is business or just for fun. Her greatest satisfaction comes from helping others and making them feel good about themselves so they will say, "Wow, I can do this!" Darci has taught cake-decorating classes to the public and has a vibrant "can-do" way of speaking to others, so it was only natural for her desire to produce a show that everyone could enjoy and learn from.

Through the years of being a mother, Darci has created many parties and accomplished many craft projects for her family. She believes that the key to a healthy childhood and a happy home is creating fantastic memories of special times. She loves to take the time for birthday parties and really focus the attention on that special birthday child. She also believes that same to be true for friends and family members of all ages!

As Darci states it, "It's about creating that lifelong memory that one day when we are old and sitting in our rocking chairs, we get to look back at photographs, remembering our loved ones and how we felt. Not so much what we did or how we did it, but that we did it together!"
