My early introduction to the dark side of literature was Edgar Allen Poe, and I was hooked forever. Stories of ghosts and vampires, things that go bump in the night have always had a way of luring me.

Yet, I've always enjoyed romantic stories, love stories like Wuthering Heights, Dracula, Frankenstein's Bride, or even, King Kong. I bet these are not what you'd consider love stories, are they?

That would be me snickering from the shadows.

Dark romance has always existed, deep in the veil of night, hidden away where you cannot find it. At least not easily.

Passion, be it love or horror, pain or pleasure, can often be discovered where you least expect it. Feel those shivers? Aren't they delicious?

My imagination has been called warped on the best of days. Some, more diplomatic descriptions, have termed my stories unique and different. Ha-ha...little did they know... Although I write under another pen name, Darcy Abriel stories are ones that flirt with the dark side of emotion and passion. Going back to the days of Saturday Night Chiller Theaters, series such as Twilight Zone and the Outer limits, toss in a little Alfred Hitchcock and these are the stories that have always fascinated my shadow nature. That edgy sense of danger that leaves one tingling. Be it a roller coaster ride, a Dracula move, or a good erotic horror read at the darkest slice of a winter's night.

I want to know what kind of childhood that serial killer experienced. And what about that demon bad boy who lives next door? How deliciously sexy can life with an incubus be? And that vampire bite. Ohhh sensations...too filled with ecstasy to imagine.
