Darcy Sebright is a singer/songwriter, poet, and visual artist. She cuts and pastes and sings at her dining room table; she sits and writes and talks with kids in North Philly at the non-profit she runs (Tree House Books); she has great and un-realized gardening plans for her front plot.
Ever since she was a girl growing up in Lilburn, Georgia, Darcy has wanted to be a singer; she remembers declaring this to her friend on a drive home from the swimming pool.
Darcy enjoys the exploration provided by the creative process. She especially enjoys collaboration and building off of found objects and stolen language.
Hi Darcy. I was so grateful to meet you and get into your music during 2008. I hope the year treated you well. I'll be ringing in the New Year with my band at Doc Watson's in center city for an "After the Mummers" concert: 8pm on New Years Day if you'll be partying in town. Have an excellent 2009!
