Mark the date for our third, larger, funner, better-than-ever Dox-A-Palooza! Bring your leashed pets of all breeds (even the non-weiner dogs!) for all the events, including the crowd-favorite weiner dog (& other breeds) races! Details to come as the date approaches.
ALL PREVIOUS DARE ADOPTERS - We'd love, Love, LOVE to see our old fosters out at the event so we can see how great they are doing in their new homes! PLEASE come out to see us!

Dachshund Adoption Rescue and Education(DARE) is a regional all-volunteer non-profit rescue organization dedicated to:
1. Rescuing and socializing abandoned, neglected, abused, orphaned and/or surrendered dachshunds and dachshund mixes by providing temporary safe shelter and medical/dental treatments as needed.
2. Procuring temporary foster homes and permanent new homes for rescued dachshunds that will provide a safe and nurturing home environment.
3. Ensuring no dachshund shall be adopted for the purposes of breeding or scientific/medical experimentation.
4. Providing education to the public on the dachshund breed, puppy mills, and responsible pet guardianship including, but not limited to, humane animal care and spay/neuter practices.
5. Displaying courtesy, respect and fellowship toward all volunteers in appreciation of services and support rendered to dachshund rescue and to promoting enhanced teamwork among all rescuers.

As such DARE specializes in the rescue, rehabilitation and re-homing of dachshunds and dachshund-mixes regardless of age or health-related issues. As all of the DARE members are volunteers, 100% of every single penny donated to DARE is spent to further DARE's mission of the rescue, rehabilitation and re-homing of dachshunds. As a non-profit, 501(c)3 rescue, all donations to DARE are tax-deductible and DARE will provide you with a receipt for all donations to ensure you are able to take advantage of appropriate and applicable tax deductions related to your DARE donations.

Well, we have decided that it is in our best interest to keep Coco slim and trim. You see, she has a special gift that she excels in.......ball retrieval. We don't quite know how she does it, but she can squash herself down to nothing, then she scooots herself under the couch and retrieves the ball! It's quite amazing. See for yourself.
