The Darfur Action group is a group of high school students devoted to changing how the world is dealing with the genocide in Darfur, Sudan. The group consists of students who live in and around the Tacoma area. As well as spreading knowledge and organizing events, the Darfur Action group also lobbies through letters and emails and provides fundraising for campaigns devoted to the Darfur crisis.

Thanksgiving greetings from the hearts of the African orphans to your heart. How overwhelmed the orphans would be if they could see for themselves the bounty that most of us take for granted. How overwhelmed we would be if we had to live for one day as they live, on the streets of the cities and villages in Africa!
The orphans who have been blessed to have already been taken into one of the orphanages where their food,clothing, and shelter are provided have been given a gift of hope from someone who decided to sponsor an orphan and share their plenty with an orphan child who had nothing.
Sponsors know that they have made a difference in the life of a child. Would those who have not yet had that experience please think about it as you plan and prepare for this Thanksgiving season. Would you not like to feed the children who otherwise would go hungry? Your decision to sponsor an orphan will provide food, clothing and shelter for an orphan who would otherwise be hungry, near-naked and homeless.

For anyone who doesn't know about Make A Change- HERE IS AN EASY WAY TO BE A PART OF THE MOVEMENT TO HELP AIDS ORPHANS!! READ ON!! We are requesting a helping hand from those in the Conscious Community in creating a village for AIDS orphans in Kenya. The Kenya National AIDS Council estimates there are 2.4 million children who have been orphaned by AIDS in Kenya. The orphans we are working to care for are in dire straits on the streets. They are malnourished, uneducated.. alone. We are working with people on the ground in Kenya in creating a small village for AIDS orphans! The village will have trees for shade, an organic vegetable garden to feed the children and provide income. We will have vocational training.. The village will be self-sustaining and will truly NURTURE children. What we need are funds to start building the foundations. The time has come for us as the conscious community to do what we can to make a difference. We have the intention of raising the $50,000 needed by Christmas. We are asking that the conscious community donate whatever you can comfortably-$5, $10, $20.. for some that amount may only be $1, which is OK too! Thank you for putting this out there!
