Dario Benitez, a multi-talented Colombian & Venezuelan singer/songwriter and performer began writing music with a multi-track program on his computer. His mind and body were filled with lyrics, melodies and rhythms aching to be created. He played all the instrumental tracks himself and overdubbed his vocals to create intricate harmonies. Upon completing a three song demo, Dario took his career to the next level by competing at the USA World Showcase at the MGM Grand Hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada. After winning the Most Entertaining Artist Award, it was time to take his music to Los Angeles, California. Dario collaborated on his second album "Mi Planeta Celestial (My Celestial Planet)" with Guillermo Pascual, a Spanish producer who has worked as musical director with a diverse group of stars including Puerto Rican artist Noelia and great artist including Alejandro Sanz and Lauria Pausini among others. Dario's songs on "Mi Planeta Celestial (My Celestial Planet)" certainly matter—Dario shares his life with you through songs such as the Dance Electronic Pop, "Sombras (Shadows)", an eclectic mix of Spanish and Europe Club Pop , ladened with catchy hooks and melodies ready for airplay and audience sing-alongs. He doesn't hesitate to bare his body & soul in his inspirational lyrics in his song "Salvame (Save me)," a opera-electronic mix, a song written for those who wants to be free from judgment and guilt. His vocal versatility is further evident as his voice takes you on a emotional rollercoaster on his song "Mi Planeta Celestial (My Celestial Planet)".Each and every one of his songs are very personal and come straight from the center of Dario's heart and world. Dario's versatile and interesting vocal style made the decision an easy for Guillermo to steer the album into the direction of classic legendary great artists such as Depeche Mode, Erasure , Enrique Iglesias and other artist from the 1980's just to mention a few. Dario is the first to admit that he has to work really hard to make great music. "That's what drives me," he says. "I feel like I have to work ten times harder than other songwriters to get there. I usually don't sit down and write an amazing song in just a few minutes like others can. Songwriting is something very intimate and personal for me, so I have to be alone when I am writing a song. My work ethic is very strong and I think it makes up for the time it takes to create my music with heart and soul."
