With 27 film festival laurels, our film crew of 12 kids from a college town in Georgia put out the most award-winning film of 2007.
DGW just came out on DVD. We decided to remain independent, and pain-stakingly grassroots, so that $17 from each of our $20 DVDs would go straight towards researching Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy, the number one genetic killer of children in the world. The other $3/$20 goes towards getting the word out on our project.
With research in mind, we've started an initiative. We will sell a million DVDs in one year. That means $17 million straight to researching DMD.

Hi Darius! I just wanted to stop by and say hi but also to tell you how much of an inspiration you are to me. When I saw the DGW video I was almost in tears because I have never knew someone was strong as you and how you look beyond your illness and think of your wheelchair as just something you use to get around you dont think of it as a "wheelchair." When I finally met you in person I was clapping so hard for you when you passed me because you really are, truely are a hero. Do you remember when you visited Sequoya Middle School in Holtsville, Ny? Well I was the girl who asked you if you could rap for the crowd. Once again I would just like to say thank you for being who you are and also thank you for inspiring so many people throught your journey! I don't think I will ever meet someone as strong and as cool as you in my lifetime!
Darius, I saw your film and "wow"! You're so amazing! You are honestly my biggest hero! I never knew about any type of muscle dystrophy until I saw you, and now I wish there was some way I could help! You really are inspirational and a true legend!
