Il progetto nasce nel 2008 dall' idea di Valek (rhythm guitar) già da tempo con l'intento di formare un nuovo gruppo. Durante la sua ricerca trova e contatta Mark (voice), anche lui desideroso di proporre pezzi propri stile gothic rock. I due prontamente si dedicano alla stesura dei brani e alla ricerca di componenti da inserire nella line-up. Poco tempo dopo la band vede l'ingresso di Pippo (bass) e Lau (drums); successivamente si aggiungeranno al gruppo Zu (keyboards) e Diego (lead guitar) per completare la formazione. Al ritorno dalla pausa estiva Pippo (bass), avendo ricevuto proposte interessanti per il suo progetto personale, comunica ai DarkSide di voler dedicarsi esclusivamente ai Mercury-Slavery. Un mese dopo, la band vede l'ingresso di Elia al basso per completare definitivamente la line-up. Dopo aver registrato la loro prima canzone "Sleep Girl" (versione acustica) hanno terminato altri quattro pezzi che verranno inseriti nel loro primo EP in uscita a ottobre 2009. Il 17 ottobre 2008 il gruppo ha fatto il suo esordio sul palco del Marmaja, ricevendo commenti molto positivi da parte del pubblico. Nel novembre 2008 i DarkSide si sono iscritti al Rockultura Contest, un concorso tenuto dal locale Marmaja nel quale gareggiavano 27 gruppi, uscendone vincitori. A settembre 2009, la band ha riaperto la stagione con numerosi live in programmazione. In data 11 dicembre verrà presentato il loro primo EP durante la serata allo Zoe Club di Milano. Attualmente hanno completato altre due canzoni “Embrace”, “I Hurt You” e stanno lavorando ad altri pezzi inediti. I DarkSide colgono l’ occasione per ringraziare tutti i loro numerosi fans sempre presenti ai live… continuate a seguirci con lo stesso entusiasmo e calore!

The idea for a new band came to Valek (rhythm guitar) in 2008. During his research for band members he found and contacted Mark (voice), who was himself looking for someone to write his own songs with, in gothic rock style. Soon after, they both started to write new songs and at the same time began to look for other musicians to join the band. After a while Pippo (bass) and Lau (drums) became part of the band that in a second moment also welcomed Zu (keyboards) and Diego (lead guitar), as to complete the then-DarkSide line-up. Back from the summer break Pippo (bass), after having received an important proposal for his own personal project, tells DarkSide that he prefers to devote himself exclusively to the Mercury-Slavery band. One month after that, the band welcomes Elia at the bass to definitively complete the line-up of DarkSide. Soon after recording their first song "Sleep Girl" (acoustic version), the band finished other four songs that will appear on their first EP planned to come out on october 2009. The 17th of october 2008 DarkSide were on the stage of the Marmaja Club, where they received many warmth and positive feedbacks from the audience. In november 2008, DarkSide took part of the Rockultura live music contest, a 27 bands competion held at the Marmaja's, ending up winning the first place prize. This september, the band reopened the live season with many live shows scheduled. On the 11th of december, their first EP will be released during the live at the Zoe Club in Milan. At this time, two more songs, “Embrace” and “I Hurt You”, has been completed and are now part of the live track list and even more new, never heard before songs are currently in the works.
