Yukishiro Tomoe was the daughter of a samurai family. i had one brother, Enishi, whom her mother died give birth to. i raised Enishi myself. i was always very serious and not demonstrative with my emotions or my affection. For that reason, the man i was engaged to, Kiyosato Akira, was convinced that i didn't love him. He left me to go to Kyoto and fight the Ishin Shishi and was killed by the Hitokiri Battousai. But, although i didn't ever smile for him or tell him how i felt, Akira was my childhood friend and i cared very deeply about him. When i heard that Hitokiri Battousai had killed my fiancee, i vowed to avenge him by killing the Battousai myself.
Tomoe agreed to become the agent of a group of ninja called the Yaminobu. i would get close to the Hitokiri and discover his weakness and then, the Yaminobu would kill him for me. So, i went to Kyoto in search of the Hitokiri Battousai and my revenge...i was drunk when i met Kenshin, and by accident witnessed him killed a ninja. i was so drunk that i fell unconcious to the ground, but luckily kenshin caught me. Kenshin, not knowing what to do, (because nobody should ever witness a Hitokiri do his job) carry me back to his room to the Kohagi inn, the headquarters of the Ishin Shishi. He tries to sneak quietly in but the innkeeper, Okami, is still awake and she sees Kenshin come in with the girl and she offers to give the girl a bath and a change of clothes while Kenshin goes off to his room.
From that day forward, i stayed close with the Ishin Shishi particularly Battousai. Katsura; the leader of the revolutionarists, asked me to be Kenshin's sheath. Someone to hold him back if he lost control of himself. i agreed of course and take the job, knowing that it would help me learn more about boy. Everything went well, until the Shinsen-gumi (who's already learn a lot of things about Battousai, and are close to finding him) were getting involve. Which forced them to run away. (Katsura's order of course)
They ran away into a small rural village, and lived together as a couple of normal farmers. At their stay, im learning a lot about Kenshin more than im planning to. To be be straight forward, i falls in love with him. But everybody knows you cannot fall in love with two person at a time, i loves Kenshin but i still loves my dead fiancee. Eventually, i died protecting Kenshin from the enemy's attack;
One- because i loves him,
Two- i wants to be with my fiancee who by the way, showed up while i was trying to decide if i would save Kenshin or not.

Tomoe is Kenshin's first wife. Although their marriage is just a setup to escape from the Kyoto rumble, she did fall in love with Battousai. But overcomed by her anger, she still ventured to kill him. Tomoe is the kind of woman very opposite to Kaoru, she can cook, do the laundry, and all sort of house-chores. (of course because she's trained to be a wife) She does things without thinking of the consequences, but still manage to get through it. The loss of her first love hurts her the most, that's why she did anything she could to get her revenge from his killer. She always seems so cold and sad. Her emotion is always hidden and could only be seen in her eyes. She rarely smile, and when she does, it would just be a half smile. However, Kenshin still falls in love with her. Maybe because their's something wonderful with her that could barely be seen. Anyway, she died for Kenshin meaning, she loves him!
