About Darkest of the Hillside Thickets
Chilliwack gets pretty dark at night. The rural town 90 minutes east of Vancouver, BC may not seem like a hotbed of musical activity (save for the 70's band that borrowed the name), but something brews and broils under its surface when the sun goes down. The Darkest of the Hillside Thickets have been taunting the town since 1992 with their tongue-in-cheek musical homage to H.P. Lovecraft. The Darkest of the Hillside Thickets have created their own melodic blend of energetic punk rock. while wearing graphic costumes that help bring their good-natured dark songs to life. Call it geek-rock, nerd-core or just plain powerpop - their H.P. Lovecraft inspired tunes are guaranteed to bring even the heaviest sci-fi geeks out of the basement and onto the dance floor. These nerds are having the sweetest revenge of all.

Thanks for the add, guys. I've loved your music ever since I read about you on a Cthulhu RPG site and decided to look you up on Limewire. I've Amazon'd 2 cd's since, and am looking forward to getting more. I'm begging you guys, please, PLEASE get a St. Louis gig soon! By the way, as a long-time MtG player, kudos on the new pic. Here's something I doodle'd a few years back.

Man, it's funny, I forget how awesome you guys are; it's like, "Oh, that Toren, what a character, what a guy." and I'm glad to know you, but then I listen to "Shh..." and I am like, "Hot damn, these guys kick ass!" You are definitely underappreciated, but I will keep trying to correct that.
Happy Halloween!

I finally got to see you guys play live, and it was everything I hoped it would be...and then some! Thank you guys SO much for such a great show! Sorry Toren, it was REALLY funny seeing you play your lil harmoniphone-thingie, hearing it on the cd I imagined the noise coming from a keyboard or organ...not a cute little harmonica-keyboard-toy-thingie! Bravo! Can't wait to buy more merch & more music!!
