Created in 1999 as the publishing arm for the songwriters Kael Mboya Bradley, Michael Lockett and William H Whitney, Darkest Shade Music, Inc. (DSM) grew out of the defunct, KABL Music, which functioned as the publishing company for the writers from 1992-96. Today, it has grown into a full blown music production and publishing company representing the songs of many songwriters as well as the band ASCENDANT.
DSM has placed songs on various TV programs, internet radio stations worldwide and ventured into film scoring and soundtracks.

Kael Mboya Bradley - Songwriter/Producer/Recording Artist
Kael Mboya Bradley is an accomplished keyboard player/artist/producer with over 15 years of experience in the music industry. He began learning classical pieces and quickly advanced to gospel and jazz. His experience in many musical genres over the years provides him the versatility to add life and character to all styles of music. He has shared his musical and production talents with many artists including spoken word/rapper artist Malik Yusef, DJ/Producer Shannon Harris, R&B artist David Josias, many gospel artists and recently The Legendary Traxster (Grammy nominated Producer for Mariah Carey). Kael started the band ASCENDANT in 2000 as a vehicle for his own musical expression. ASCENDANT continues to showcase the creativity, passion and dedication that he has for music.
Michael Lockett - Songwriter/Asst. Producer/Recording Artist
Michael Lockett began singing at nine years old. He quickly developed an ear for music and harmony. Songwriting soon followed. Michael's career has taken him over half the world. Phil Perry, vocal group Truce, gospel artist Jesse Dean Stanford and Grace, soulstress Swaylo are just a few of the artists his vocal talents have added to over the years. Now, Michael has added even more talents to his impressive arsenal as percussionist and co-lead/background vocalist of ASCENDANT.
