Dark Fibre with Hexstatic, 11 Dec 22:30 - late BFI Southbank
Free to attend!.
The BFI and AV label Ne1co present another evening of live audiovisual suprises, in what is fast becoming a favourite among London's more discerning club crowd. In this special festive edition, a bumper line up of DJs and visualists will be providing crisp beats, beeps, blips and bouncy bass, all topped with a spicy blend of video and motion graphics..
We're delighted to welcome legendary duo Hexstatic aka Stuart Warren- Hill and Robin Brunson, one of the worlds premier Audio-Visual acts, who these days are more accustomed to headlining music festival stages, wowing crowds with their eye popping, irreverent and mischievous mixture of dance music and live video. As well as rocking parties the world over, the pair have consistantly pushed boundaries within the genre with a series of landmark releases including their seminal early work with Coldcut, 2000's 'Rewind' - that came with a CD-ROM of synced videos to each track, MasterView (2004), a fully audiovisual album that included 3D videos through to the critically acclaimed and highly influential Pick 'n' Mix in 2007. A pioneering body of work that has earned them respect from all quarters. .
If that wasn't enticing enough, Scratch virtuoso JFB, 2007 UK DMC Champion and resident DJ for Beardyman will be scratching up a storm of sound and image, premiering a new DVD of groundbreaking AV samples, VIS HOP, launched on Mixmash by decollage.tv.
With support from VJ / DJ team, Lucidhouse vs Tiger Lily and BFI resident DJ Phil D, this promises to be a night not to be missed!.
