The inspiration for my artistname came from the egyptian Pharao Akhenaten.
Here is a short summary, from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Akhenaten often also spelled Echnaton was known before the fifth year of his reign as Amenhotep IV. A Pharaoh of the Eighteenth dynasty of Egypt, he ruled for 17 years and died in 1336 BC or 1334 BC. He is especially noted for abandoning traditional Egyptian polytheism and introducing worship centered on the Aten which is sometimes described as monotheistic, but henotheism would be a more accurate description, since he ranked the Aten above other gods but did not deny their existence. Indeed, an early inscription likens them to stars as compared with the sun, and later official language avoids calling the Aten a god, as if to create for the solar deity a status above mere gods. Akhenaten tried to bring about a departure from traditional religion that in the end would not be accepted. After his death, traditional religious practice was gradually restored, and when some dozen years later rulers without clear rights of succession from the Eighteenth Dynasty founded a new dynasty, they discredited Akhenaten and his immediate successors, referring to Akhenaten himself as 'the enemy' in archival records.

Dark Hall is a one-man projekt started on 3rd January 2007. My first song "In abandoned halls" I have recorded in my home studio. Now I'm recording my next songs... These songs tell about the Egyptian Mytholigie (Just on the album 1340). My Artistname "Echnaton" comes from the Egyptian King Ach-en-Aten or Echnaton. Enjoy my songs.... you can also write me an e-mail: tiamat.p@hotmail.com
2007 - In the year 2007 I've got the idea to start a one-man-project.At the begin I was influenced by the egyptian myths and started with the Track called "In abondoned Halls" which means the hall of the King Echnaton in his grave. The album "Monotheist" from - Celtic Frost - was a enormous influence for me to record some ambient stuff.
2008 - Later I recorded the track called Dark Caves. Then Dark Hall wasn't anymore in progress for a long time until... In the summer 2008 I recorded the nest track "Master Alarm" and many other like "Isolated Desert" or "Stars of the pyramides". So I produced a full length CD called "1340" with this few tracks.
2009 - Now I'm producing the next CD "Atmosphere" and I hope you'll soon enjoy it.
Two tracks are already on air.
"Atmosphere I"
"Atmosphere II"

Greetings…

"...Black, cold, the surrounding space. Without sound, without a bit of breath. Somewhere far away beyond the borders of the senses, outs of time, you can hear hopelessly long cries, sad, never-ending monotonous song of emptiness. Emptiness fills everything. Even hearts so far full of life now are dead. All overflows undescribed sorrow, starting off where everything was beginning. Amazing black, deep unlimited black. Darkness nothing more, there is no light. Far flare of perspective changes driven every day. The hours, days, months, years are irrelevant. Waiting gradually turned into the reluctance, the reluctance into sadness, sadness into pain. Far strenuous pain, of all colours of grey - the colour black. ..."
"...Czarna, zimna, otaczająca przestrzeń. Bez dźwięków, bez odrobiny tchnienia. Gdzieś daleko poza granicami zmysłów, poza granicami czasu, słychać długi rozpaczliwy krzyk, smutny, niekończący się monotonny śpiew pustki. Pustka wypełnia wszystko. Nawet dawne pełne życia serca są martwe. Wszystko przepełnia nieopisana żałoba, zaczynająca się tam gdzie wszystko miało początek.Niesamowita czerń, głęboka nieograniczona czerń. Ciemność to wszystko, nie ma światła. Daleki rozbłysk perspektywy zmiany napędzał każdy dzień. Godziny, dni, miesiące, lata, to bez znaczenia. Oczekiwanie stopniowo przeradzało się w niechęć, niechęć w smutek, a smutek w ból. Daleki męczący ból, o wszystkich kolorach szarości - kolorach czerni. ..."
