The Dark Knights of Camelot are a power trio from Hattiesburg, MS. Singer/guitarist Ben Shea first used the group moniker in 2006 for a studio project with childhood friend David Stark of Sons of William, but, despite the release of four songs, it did not become a full-fledged band, as Stark returned to Sons of William and Shea worked with Stale Fashion.
By January 2008, however, Shea had left Stale Fashion and resurrected the Dark Knights of Camelot with Harry Crumpler III of This Orange Four. Crumpler, a multi-instrumentalist, took up the bass, and Brad Newton, a bandmate of his, was brought in as drummer on an interim basis. Eventually, Simon Davenport became the permanent drummer, and the Dark Knights of Camelot began touring extensively. In January 2009, they recorded their debut disc, the five-song Hurrication EP, in Jackson, MS, and it was released by Olympic Records on July 14, 2009. ~ William Ruhlmann
