Dark Muse is a one woman sound 'sploration project, offering experimental Avant Garde dark ambient & sensual haunting ethereal alchemy. All sounds are recorded & performed in 'Real' time, improvised & stemming from the muse that speaks through me. I feel I go into a trance like state as the voices flow out of me...

Each piece begins with just one sound that I build upon. I then capture & recapture (loop & effect) said voices until multiple layers are formed. With added found objects, loopers, FX, electric guitar, metal, plastic, screws, bells, gongs, bowed cymbal, Autoharp, hand drums are thrown into the mix, and just about anything else that emits tone that I can mic & capture into what I am doing... usually ending in a Cacaphony of sound.

Dreams are a major influence to my work, I tend to listen to my own sounds everynight as I fall to sleep. It helps to drown out the sounds & traces of things left in my mind from the day. This IS my religion. I feel my sounds inspire my dreams & my dreams give me gifts... which I use to create more sound visions, photos, paintings, jewels... Thereby continuing the cycle of recycling my dreams into my art. Combining the inner & outer creativity of my mind & physical body... through my art. My dream muses are always with me, and my music is the dream.

When I perform live, all of these elements come together & since I am improvising all the time, I am at my most vulnerable. And I feel that I am peeling back the layers of my flesh & exposing my soul for all to see & feel. To me these are familiar works that strike a soothing chord in me. Even my more chaotic sound visions can envelope me with familiarity. These are my dream memories, my lovers... ancient souls speaking their native tongue through me. My Muses....

the wailing banshee riding the night skies...
water slowly submerging you...
and the voices begin as you struggle for air....
a warm and familiar embrace...
as you head into the unknown...
summoning ancient ones...
acknowledgement of old ...
embracing the light ...
while succumbing to darkness....
sensual sheets of satin stroking your flesh....
and sometimes with bitter shards of glass...
a fuzzy warm memory...
a midnight stroll in the woods...
dark, dank, mysterious...
losing your way & drowning in the mire....
lips carressing all over your body...
then sinking in with sharp teeth...
possession...
falling into a trancelike state...
the beckoning forth of your Dark Muse...
a journey....
