DARK ORANGE is at present both a Hamburg/Germany and a Valentigney/France based band. They were one of the first “Heavenly Voices” Bands from the cult label “Hyperium” in the early 90s. After 15 years working on other projects, Katrin Elna and Dirk Odu decided to make a reunion of Dark Orange in 2008 with some new bandmembers like french programmer Olivier from DEAD BEAT PROJECT or Michelle on bassguitar.
DARK ORANGE have done their schallzentrale studio session in march 2009. There will be a second session in autumn and winter. DARK ORANGE will release their new album "DARK ORANGE...clouds, paperships and fallen angels" in next years spring with the record company KALINKALAND.

History...first 3-track tape DAHLIA was supported by German Wave-Magazine ZILLO. A little bit later, the song ROSEGROWER could be found on the classic wave-sampler BOQUET OF DREAMS. 1990, first DARK ORANGE longplayer OLEANDER was published. The time after was filled up with playing live together with bands like LOVE LIKE BLOOD, AND ALSO THE TREES, PINK TURNS BLUE, CANCER BARRACK, GALAXIE 500. After a show in Stuttgart with AND ALSO THE TREES, both bands were playing some music backstage and soon was born the idea of doing a cover-version of KATE BUSHs The man with the child in his eyes. The song was released on a 3-track CD SOUNDS OF SILENCE, including also two cover-versions of this unforgettable Simon and Garfunkel song. 1993, the second DARK ORANGE longplayer THE GRDEN OF POSEIDON came into the shops. The following DARK ORANGE-Tour ended with the last concert in June 1993. Longtime bass-player Christof left, band-members Malte and Dirk P. were changing to Hamburg Band SELIG and to PHILLIP BOA. In 1993, former AND ALSO THE TREES-member Marc Tibenham remixed two Dark Orange-songs, published under the project 24 HOURS featuring a 6-track-MCD with different remixes.
Affected by the first Portishead-Album, Katrin-Elna and Dirk founded novaVENUS, working together with different musicians like Axel and Hauke from GIRLS UNDER GLASS or CZECHs Gregcore. Trip-Hop Album VEGALOOP came out in 1998. With the personal split between Katrin-Elna and Dirk also ended the musical partnership. Dirk founded MOONSOON with Sandra Berger, Katrin-Elna was going to do the lounge-project KATE THE CAT.
