Sounds Like
A 1970 plum crazy purple Plymouth Duster with a 340 six pack peeling out of a gravel driveway just as the early evening sky opens up into pink and blue following summer's first late afternoon thunderstorm...
Daphne Denniston was born on a train passing through New York City. She took her first steps in Central Park and has been on the run ever since. A background check will show past addresses in Connecticut, NYC, Texas, Pennsylvania and California, but ask her where she’s from and she’s just as likely to tell you Montana.
Daphne got a late start robbing banks - but she was a natural. It took a little more prompting for her to start playing her songs for people, but she soon found that writing a good song was almost as satisfying as the feel of cold metal and 45 calibers.
Putting bankrobbing on the backburner, Daphne sold the 34-foot Winnebago, put her guns on lockdown, and started writing songs. So here she is. If she disappears again, look for her in Mexico, with a wide-brimmed hat, a short skirt, and the outline of a gun in her garter, drinking tequila with the locals, and watching the sunset over her fishing boat while the gulls peck at the remains of the day’s deep sea catch.
Last open mic ever or just the last one this year??? I'm ashamed to admit I haven't made one yet after your invite and now I'm in New York with my brand new grandbabygirl and wont make it back until 1-11-10....so where might I find you next year??? Luv yer stuff... I'm so ready for a month or two in La Paz, wanna go fishin?
i just wrote a song about a pancake that gets drunk and shoots up the town and lands in jail. I didn't say it was a good song, just a song about being drunk. No, wait, maybe it's me being drunk and writing to you about a pancake song? Damn drunken pancakes! (The rat bastards). Well, at least your new C.D. has nothing to do with the drunken pancake gang. (You know, 'Flap & Jack'). Yeah, I went there..;)
