About me:
Hi, I'm Darla Crane! Okay, first things first:
1. PLEASE DON'T SEND ME FRIEND REQUESTS. Every time I try adding friends to this profile, MySpace finds a reason to delete it and I have to start all over again. I really do want to maintain a presence in this particular web community (without inadvertently pissing off someone's wife or girlfriend or mom or whatever) so if you want to keep up on what I'm doing, please just send me a little note and I'll let you know where you can do so.
2. I AM NOT HERE TO HOOK UP. I'm sure you're a total hottie, and it's nothing personal against you! I love hearing from my friends and fans but I'm not here for dates, play partners, or life partners.
[I hope this doesn't sound harsh, but you wouldn't believe how many people write to tell me how pointless my life is without them in it. Trust me...I've got things nicely covered in that department.]
3. I CAN'T HELP YOU BREAK INTO THE ADULT INDUSTRY. I wish I could, really. There just isn't any magic recipe for me to offer you. Thanks so much for understanding!
Okay, moving on!
I made my modeling debut in 1990, appearing in softcore bondage, tickling fetish and foot fetish videos, mostly for the companies
Harmony Concepts and
FM Concepts. I also appeared in several big-bust themed catfight and sensual wrestling videos for
Napali Video. My love for makeup and costume design came in handy when I began performing at public events as costumed look-a-likes and soon, characters like
Elvira,
Marilyn Monroe and
Bettie Page began showing up in my fetish videos.
I have also been featured in multiple fetish periodicals, including
Leg Show,
Bondage Life,
Skin Two, and
Fantasy Fashion Digest.
After winning first-place fetishwear awards at
Fetish Ball III (Los Angeles-1993) and
Fetish Ball IV (Los Angeles-1994), I was honored when asked to be the poster-girl for
Fetish Ball V (Los Angeles-1995).
In 1996 I was thrilled to be asked to model for legendary modern pin-up artist
Olivia De Berardinis. Olivia was excited to have me wear a varied selection of my wigs and corsets for our session together. She "paid" me for modeling with an original painting of myself dressed in a mermaid costume! Several trading cards and greeting cards now feature Olivia's paintings of me.
Over the years, I have tried to remain active both in front of, and behind the camera. In 1997 I accepted a position with Close-Up Entertainment, Inc. producing, directing, and editing bondage and discipline themed videos. I would eventually also become responsible for much of the company's advertising and public relations elements. (I reluctantly ended my ten-and-a-half year relationship with CUE in late 2007, when the company underwent several dramatic changes.)
While at Close-Up, I specialized in videos featuring imperiled superheroines. I am proud to say that I was the first fetish video director ever to cast popular adult models
Stacy Burke,
Shay Sights, and
Tanya Danielle in superheroine roles. The "SHiP" genre continues to be my favorite to produce.
In 2000 I began adding more mainstream adult films to my resume. I'm quite lucky to have appeared on the front boxcover of almost every mainstream adult production I've appeared in!
In 2002, when everything was finally perfect, I finally launched my own personal membership website.
DarlaCrane_dot_net is the first place where my fans have the opportunity to communicate with me directly and as often as they want. Members have access to my Personal Journal, my Calendar of Events, and my Private Email Address. They can write me as often as they want and
always expect a reply.
I was tickled pink the first time I saw myself referred to as the
"Bettie Page of the 90's" in print.
My fans know that I'm an ardent fan of toys and action figures. They often send me dolls and figures made up...and sometimes TIED-up...to look like me!
